FAQs
April, May and September are great months to visit the Amalfi coast. With less crowds and lovely weather, it is a great time to explore.
The nearest airport to the Amalfi Coast is Naples. Many budget airlines fly there making it an affordable place to access.
Pintour offer a shuttle from Naples airport to the Amalfi coast, stopping at a variety of towns, which takes around an hour and 45 minutes.
You can also take a ferry from Naples Beverello port to Amalfi. The direct route will take around 2 hours.
Alternatively you can get a Taxi from Naples airport straight to your hotel. We did this in April and it cost us €130 for a large taxi for 5 people. It took around an hour and a half.
You can also take the train to Sorrento and then a bus to your location on the Amalfi coast. If you have lots of time you can stop off at Pompeii which is on the train route! They have a luggage storage space for a small fee.
There are definitely better places in Italy to visit with kids, but that isn’t to say you shouldn’t go.
If you do decide to head there with young children, consider leaving the pram at home and using a carrier or sling. There are lots of steps and hills meaning little kids could easily get tired.
If your kids love the beach and can be occupied with gelato and great food, then I’m sure they will love it!
You should plan to spend around 4-5 days in the Amalfi Coast. This will give you enough time to see a variety of towns and mooch around leisurely.

Billund in Denmark has so many fun family attractions. We visited Legoland, Lego House, Lalandia and Wow Park - there is lots of cheap accommodation in the town. I’ve got blog posts covering the different attractions on our website 🫶🏻

Unpopular opinion - but babies aren’t the worst encounter you could have in upper class….
I feel like I am on my own when I say this, but upper/business class is very overrated. People told me I’d never want to go back to economy, but luckily for me, I’m much more of an economy girl at heart. I did another business flight shortly after this in the Q Suite with Qatar, and I got the sh*t’s from their lobster mac and cheese - that was the nail in the coffin for my brief encounter with the boujee life 🫡

The fact I caught him saying this on camera 😭🥰
We managed to visit the Maldives on a budget by staying on local islands as opposed to expensive resort islands. These islands are much cheaper, not only for accommodation but for the day trips too. All of these experiences would have cost a fortune from a resort. A full day renting a boat for our family, seeing dolphins, sharks, sting rays and even lunch was only £160 for us all!

We did this as part of our budget Lapland trip!
(Give us a follow for tons more great travel ideals 🫶🏻)
This stay in itself wasn’t particularly budget, but, the joy of cutting back in all the other areas means things like this become affordable! @lakeinarimobilecabins offers this experience along with lots of other day trips and fun activities.
I have a whole blog post on how we did a week in Lapland for under £3000 (including everything from the clothes we bought to petrol!)
