Neuroinclusive Hotels | TUI

Looking for a Neuroinclusive Hotel?
When I think about family travel, a million thoughts rush through my mind: packing the essentials,
making sure everyone’s need are accommodated, and of course, finding that perfect destination.
But as a neurodiverse family, there’s one question that constantly lingers in my head: What does
neurodiverse-friendly travel really look like? And more importantly, how can I make sure it works for
my family.
For many of us, family travel can be a rewarding but also challenging experience. Between sensory
overload, changes in routine, and navigating unfamiliar spaces, the stress of a holiday can sometimes
outweigh the excitement. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Over time, I’ve come to realise that for
a holiday to be truly enjoyable for us, it has to be built on a foundation of safe spaces, flexibility,
and – most importantly – understanding.
Whilst each family’s needs may differ, the key to a positive travel experience lies in finding
environments that are adaptable, supportive, and accommodating to differences. From speaking to
other families in similar situations, I’ve realised that we all have our own unique must-haves for
travel to work. Some families prioritise accommodations that cater to sensory needs, while others
focus on access to trained staff who understand the nuances of neurodiversity. There are many
factors at play when it comes to travel, and it’s reassuring to know that there’s no “one-size-fits-all”
answer.
TUI’s Steps Toward Neuroinclusive Hotels
This is where travel companies like TUI really stand out in the world of inclusive family travel.
They’ve made significant strides in becoming more neurodiverse-friendly, and I couldn’t be more
supportive.
This year, TUI introduced two neurodiverse-friendly resorts, these resorts are
ticking so many boxes for families like mine. These locations are designed with sensory needs in
mind, featuring sensory rooms where guests can take a moment. Trained staff are
on hand to provide the extra support and that much sought-after understanding.
What really stands out to me, though, are the communication boards in the kid’s clubs. These boards
are a simple but effective way to break down language barriers, offering clear visual cues and step-
by-step instructions for children who may struggle with traditional communication. Knowing that
there are places where my child can feel comfortable and understood while still enjoying activities
with other kids? That’s the kind of thoughtful design that makes all the difference.

TUI BLUE Aura, Ibiza
The TUI BLUE Aura in Ibiza is a great spot for families looking to enjoy a relaxing yet fun holiday. This
family-friendly resort is all about comfort and accessibility, making it a perfect choice for families
with kids, including those with neurodiverse needs.
Some of the standout features include child-friendly facilities, a sandy beach close by, and free
access to the waterpark next door. The resort also has a kids’ club packed with fun, engaging
activities that keep little ones entertained. Plus, the resort focuses on flexibility and creating
sensory-friendly spaces, which is a huge win for neurodiverse families.
The pool area at the resort is definitely a highlight. There are multiple pools, including a shallow one
for younger kids that’s perfect for little ones to splash around in. During a stay you have access to
the waterpark next door and there’s also a splashpark for little ones to enjoy.
Port des Torrent, located on the west coast of Ibiza, is a peaceful and family-friendly area that offers
a perfect blend of relaxation and fun. The area is known for its calm, shallow waters, making it ideal
for young children to swim and play safely. The beach is easily accessible and lined with family-
friendly restaurants and cafes, so parents can enjoy a relaxed meal while keeping an eye on the little
ones.
Nearby, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for family activities, including boat trips, water sports, and
scenic walks along the coastline. Port des Torrent also offers a laid-back atmosphere, with a quieter
vibe compared to other busier parts of the island, making it an excellent choice for families seeking a
stress-free holiday. The area’s easygoing charm and accessible amenities make it a great destination
for families with children of all ages.

TUI BLUE Nausicaa Beach, Cyprus
The TUI BLUE Nausicaa Beach Resort in Cyprus is a fantastic choice for families seeking a blend of
relaxation and fun by the sea. This family-friendly resort is packed with features designed to keep
everyone entertained and comfortable.
For the kids, the resort has a fantastic kids’ club with fun, supervised activities that keep little ones
engaged while parents enjoy some downtime. The pool area is a big hit, with separate sections for
younger children, including a shallow, safe pool for toddlers to splash around in. There’s also a
family-friendly beach right on the doorstep, making it easy for families to enjoy the sun, sand, and
sea together.
The TUI BLUE Nausicaa Beach Resort is located in Protaras, a family-friendly resort town on the
southeastern coast of Cyprus. Known for its beautiful sandy beaches and calm, shallow waters,
Protaras is perfect for families with young children. Fig Tree Bay, one of the area’s most famous
beaches, is just a short walk from the resort.
Protaras also has plenty of family-friendly attractions, including scenic promenades, parks, and local
cafés. For more active families, there are water sports, boat trips, and even nature trails to explore
in the nearby Cape Greco National Forest Park. With its safe beaches, relaxed atmosphere, and
plenty of activities, Protaras is an ideal base for a family holiday.

It’s so reassuring to see travel providers like TUI taking meaningful steps toward true inclusivity – not
just ticking boxes, but creating environments where all families can feel seen, supported, and
celebrated. I hope this post gives you a little inspiration and reassurance that the travel industry is
taking steps to create more neuroinclusive hotels. And if you’ve discovered any amazing neurodiverse-
friendly destinations or tips that have worked for your family, I’d love to hear about them!

I am SO bad at keeping secrets… and this has been a big one!
It has always been a dream of mine to publish a book, so when I got a genuine book deal, it was VERY hard to not shout it from the roof tops! Excitement turned into panic when I realised I actually had to write a whole book... but it’s been an incredible journey.
This is more than just a travel book - I share things I’ve never spoken about publicly before, including some difficult moments to revisit, alongside everything I know about bargain family travel.
Thank you @dkeyewitness for bringing my ideas to life, and to @belllomaxmoreton and @mackenzieweller_management for believing in me from the very start ❤️🙏🏻

We made it work - and you can too.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt since having kids, it’s that your life will be chaotic and wild whether you’re sat at home, in Tescos or on a beach somewhere lush - I know where I’ll be 😅🍹
We have always been budget travellers, and our followers are always shocked at the price we spend on our trips. Follow along for tips, inspo and help getting your family out there ❤️

Taking little Kids to Japan - My honest opinion 🙃
Pros:
👶🏻 In general, it’s a country that loves kids (quiet kids… see con #1)
✨ Toilets are cleaner than your kitchen.
🚽 Toilets are fun (the “bum spray” will never lose its novelty with a 5 year old)
🎢 Disney parks are much cheaper than in the US/EU
❤️ Very safe country.
😸 They love a cartoon character. Themed cafes are everywhere.
Cons:
🤫 It is a very quiet culture. Japanese children are very well behaved. If yours are anything like mine, you’ll get a few side eyes.
✈️ Travelling so far east = Crazy jet lag - Not fun with little ones who want to get ready at 3am.
🍽️ Tiny restaurants aren’t pram friendly, and it was rare anywhere had a baby chair.
🛏️ A family room often turned out to be one double bed for us all to share. Not one place we stayed had a baby cot.
We actually had a great holiday, but it isn’t one for the faint hearted. If a cute Eurocamp holiday in France is level 1 of the family holiday world, this was definitely level 50 😅
💻 I’ve got a blog post on our website with our itinerary and what the 3 week trip cost us ❤️
