Disneyland Paris Holiday: Everything you need to know 2025

Disneyland Paris Holiday: Magic for Everyone
If you’ve ever daydreamed about strolling down Main Street, with Mickey Mouse waving in the distance and the sweet scent of Mickey-shaped waffles in the air – you’re not alone. Disneyland Paris is a fairytale destination that’s perfect whether you’re travelling with a baby, energetic kids, moody teens, or enjoying a grown-up escape with no little ones in tow. Yes, you can absolutely do a Disney trip just for adults – and it’s glorious.
Let me share my top tips and hints for having a great time at Disneyland Paris.

The Best Time to Have your Disneyland Paris Holiday
Disneyland Paris is open 365 days a year – which is both a blessing and a budgeting challenge! Park hours typically run from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m, with Extra Magic Time for Disney hotel guests starting at 8:30 a.m. Always check the official calendar, though-hours shift with the seasons and special events.
The cheapest time to go is midweek during the low season-think January, early March, and mid-November, but avoid UK and French school holidays if you’re trying to save some serious euros. Play around with both dates and hotels to get the best deals, and try not to arrive on a Saturday or Sunday, as weekends are generally more expensive.
Every September, Disneyland Paris opens bookings for the following April to March travel window. For example, in September 2025, you’ll be able to book dates from April 2026 through March 2027. After that, you’d need to wait until September 2026 to book for the next year.
What’s the Best Season?
Each season brings its own sparkle:
Spring is flower-filled and fresh (April is especially lovely). It has just been announced that A Million Splashes of Colours will return in February 2026 -a fantastic seasonal celebration to catch.
Summer means long park hours and vibrant shows. We love visiting in late August, as it tends to be quieter and just outside the peak summer holiday rush. The Disney Music Festival started on 19th April 2025 and runs until 7th September 2025. In Summer 2026, A Million Splashes of Colours will return as well.
Autumn brings a spook-tacular Halloween theme and milder weather. We absolutely love the Halloween decorations and the chance to meet rare villains -and don’t worry, it’s not too scary for little ones! The Halloween season runs from 1st October 2025 through November 2025.*
Winter? Magical. The park transforms into a snowy storybook with twinkling lights, festive parades, and cosy Christmas stalls. Just be sure to bundle up -it can get very cold! The Christmas season starts 8th November 2025 and runs until 6th January 2026.*
* These dates are generally the same each year, but always check the official Disneyland Paris app before your trip.
Top tips for your Disneyland Paris Holiday
We’ve visited during all seasons over the years, but Halloween and Christmas always come out on top for us. Summer has its perks, but keep in mind that stage shows in Central Plaza can be cancelled due to heat. This happened on both evenings of our June 2025 trip-we sadly missed the new show, The Grand Orchestra Finale.
When choosing your season, also consider where you’ll be staying. An outdoor pool is perfect in summer, but not ideal in winter. We’ve stayed at a variety of accommodations – from Newport Bay Club to nearby hotels like B&B Hôtel près de Disneyland Paris, and even Eurocamp La Croix du Vieux Pont. Jen wrote about the benefit of staying somewhere like La Croix du Vieux Pont in her blog here.

Disneyland Paris with a Baby
Good news: Disneyland Paris is actually very baby-friendly. Both parks have Baby Care Centres for nappy changes and feeding, and many rides are gentle enough to enjoy with a baby in your arms – like It’s a Small World, Le Pays des Contes de Fées, and the Disneyland Railroad.
Don’t skip the parades – you might be surprised how much little ones enjoy watching them, and you’ll love seeing their reactions during character interactions.
Strollers can be rented, but I wouldn’t recommend them for children under 3. Baby carriers are much more practical, especially for queues, since pushchairs aren’t allowed inside most queuing areas and will need to be left outside.
If you’re caught short, the Baby Care Centre sells essentials like wipes and nappies, and all restaurants are equipped with baby food. Just remember: you can’t buy over-the-counter medicine in France, so be sure to pack children’s paracetamol or any medication your baby might need.
Lastly, don’t forget to pack layers, snacks, and a sun hat or rain cover, depending on the weather.

Taking a Child? It’s Their Kingdom!
Kids aged around 4-12 are right in the Disney sweet spot. They can go on most rides, meet characters without fear (hopefully!), and last through a parade or two. The height restrictions are surprisingly manageable-many of the big rides start at just 102 cm (around 4 years old).
Don’t miss Peter Pan’s Flight, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, or Ratatouille: The Adventure. Disney Stars on Parade is always a highlight, and Illuminations-the nighttime fireworks and projection show-is truly jaw-dropping.
If your child is noise-sensitive, ear defenders can be a lifesaver. And if they’re not a fan of crowds, consider watching Illuminations from the top of Main Street for more space and a calmer atmosphere.
Top Tips for Saving Money ay Disneyland Paris with Kids:
-
Bring your own Disney costumes – they’re very expensive to buy in the park!
-
Pack bubble mixture – trust me, they’ll want one of those overpriced bubble wands.
-
Don’t forget a rain jacket, extra pair of shoes, and a jumper – even in summer, the weather can change quickly.

What About Teens?
Disneyland Paris for teens? Absolutely. There’s plenty to keep them entertained-think thrills like Hyperspace Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
And don’t underestimate the power of the selfie-they’ll be on the hunt for characters, perfect castle angles, and themed snacks with the focus of a vlogger on a deadline. My two absolutely love all the rides at Disneyland Paris, and every trip becomes a challenge to see how many times they can ride their favourites.
Top Tips for Teens:
-
Use Single Rider lanes if they don’t mind riding solo -it can save loads of time.
-
Buy Mickey ears at home -check out Primark, Claire’s, Asda, or Sainsbury’s for budget-friendly options.
-
Pack snacks and sweets-teens get hungry in queues and food can be pricey in the parks.
-
Ride the bigger attractions after dark-they feel even more exciting at night!
Adults-Only Disney? Yes, Please.
Couples, friends, solo adventurers-adults do Disney their way. The romantic charm of Sleeping Beauty Castle, artisan cocktails at Skyline Bar in the Marvel Hotel, and no need to queue for the Princess Pavilion? Yes. Please.
Don’t skip Phantom Manor at night-it’s extra eerie when you’re not busy explaining it to a 5-year-old.
Adults-only trips are also perfect for foodie explorations. Try Bistrot Chez Rémy (Ratatouille-themed) for delicious French cuisine and clever decor. Sip a glass of champagne on Main Street before the fireworks-pure magic.
And hey, no judgement if you rope-drop Pirates of the Caribbean just for the smell.
Bonus tip: you can visit all the Disney hotels just to explore-no need to be a guest to enjoy a wander around.
Rides and Height Restrictions
Some of the bigger rides do have height restrictions:
- Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop – 81cm
- Autopia – 81cm
- Big Thunder Mountain – 102cm
- Crush’s Coaster – 107cm
- Avengers Flight Force– 120cm
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 102cm
- Hyperspace Mountain – 120cm
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril – 120cm
- Star Tours: The Adventures Continue – 120cm
- RC Racer – 120cm
For the littlest ones, you’ll find plenty to do. Under 2’s can enjoy slow rides:
- It’s a Small World
- Le Carrousel de Lancelot (horse carousel)
- Le Pays Des Contes De Fees (small boat ride)
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains (Snow White, dark ride)
- Les Voyages de Pinocchio (dark ride)
- Disneyland Railroad
- Cars Road Trip
Rides without height restrictions but not suitable for babies
- Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
- Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups
- Orbitron
- Phantom Manor
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Casey Jr. – Le Petit Train du Cirque
- Ratatouille
- Cars Quatre Rouse Rallye
- Les Tapis Volants-flying Carpets Over Agrabah
- Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin (must be over 1 years old)
- Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure

-
Keep checking the app, even on the day you want to dine-plans change and spots open up!

Shows & Parades at Disneyland Paris
No day at Disneyland Paris is complete without catching a show or parade.
-
Disney Stars on Parade runs most afternoons and features jaw-dropping floats, iconic characters, and that classic Disney magic.
-
Disney Dreams!, the nighttime show over Sleeping Beauty Castle, is absolutely breathtaking-fireworks, projections, and music that will make you emotional (in the best way!).
Fireworks Tips:
You don’t need to stake out a spot hours in advance-but be aware, it will be busy.
If you want a great view with less crowd pressure, try these spots:
-
Near the start of Main Street, close to the pavilion and train station.
-
Opposite Casey’s Corner, behind the flower bed railings-this is a tried-and-tested favourite!
Parade Viewing Tips:
For the best views with less crowding, stand:
-
Near the beginning of the route: by the big gates near the arcade tunnel at the top of Main Street.
-
Near the end of the route: by the gates around the corner from It’s a Small World.
Seasonal & Stage Shows
There are plenty of seasonal shows throughout the year, like:
-
Halloween villain performances
-
Christmas sing-alongs
And don’t miss these incredible indoor and outdoor shows:
-
The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands
-
Mickey and the Magician
-
Frozen: A Magical Invitation
-
Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure
-
Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland
-
Marvel pop-up shows in Avengers Campus
General Show Tips:
-
Arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time-queues close once the venue is full.
-
Don’t stress too much about where you sit. Most venues offer great views from all angles.
-
Pro tip: Sit a little further back rather than front row-you’ll often get a better overall view of the stage.

Under Refurbishment
Before you go, check the Disneyland Paris app or website for scheduled ride closures. It’s common for a few rides to be closed for refurbishment at any time, especially during quieter months. There may also be temporary closures of restaurants, shops, and maintenance work around the parks or hotels.
What’s New? Hello, Frozen Land!
Yes-it’s happening! World of Frozen is coming to Disneyland Paris, and it’s set to be stunning.
Arendelle will feature its very own Frozen-themed ride, character encounters, themed food, and that snowy aesthetic we all secretly love. While still under construction, it’s expected to be the crown jewel of Walt Disney Studios Park in 2026-definitely worth planning a future trip around!
Other exciting additions coming soon include:
-
Adventure Way Promenade
-
A new Tangled-themed ride (similar to teacups but in Rapunzel’s boats)
-
The first-ever PIXAR film “Up” ride-think swinging and spinning swing chairs
-
The elegant Regal View Restaurant & Lounge (a character dining experience)
-
Eventually, an entire land themed to The Lion King (opening date not yet confirmed)
Big things are on the horizon at Disneyland Paris!
Final Thoughts on a Disneyland Paris Holiday
Disneyland Paris is a place where we truly feel at home! Our very first visit was ten years ago- it was meant to be a go-all-out trip: eat at character restaurants, meet all the characters, stay at a Disney resort for Extra Magic Hours, and hit every ride in just four days.
But we fell in love so much that we’ve since been back over 30 times!
Food can be expensive, but quick service meals are better priced -or fill up at a buffet restaurant. Our favourite quick service spots are Casey’s Corner and Restaurant Hakuna Matata. For sit-down dining, we love Bistrot Chez Rémy and PYM Kitchen. We also adore character dining, and breakfast at Plaza Gardens is perfect for capturing an empty Main Street photo. Don’t forget the snacks-whether it’s treats from home or a delicious Mickey-shaped sweet from Main Street!
The parades, shows, and nighttime fireworks are not to be missed. Our favourite rides? Hyperspace Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Crush’s Coaster, and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force-can you tell we love fast thrill rides?
After all our holidays to Disneyland Paris-whether staying onsite, at nearby hotels, or a Eurocamp -we still love every minute and discover new things to see and do each trip. Each visit is just as magical as the first! Check out some great deals for Disneyland Paris holidays.
When we first went, my son was 8 and my daughter was 6. Fast forward ten years, and now I have two late teenagers who still happily choose to go and forever ask, “When are we going back?”
So my question to you is – When are you planning to go?

Taking little Kids to Japan - My honest opinion 🙃
Pros:
👶🏻 In general, it’s a country that loves kids (quiet kids… see con #1)
✨ Toilets are cleaner than your kitchen.
🚽 Toilets are fun (the “bum spray” will never lose its novelty with a 5 year old)
🎢 Disney parks are much cheaper than in the US/EU
❤️ Very safe country.
😸 They love a cartoon character. Themed cafes are everywhere.
Cons:
🤫 It is a very quiet culture. Japanese children are very well behaved. If yours are anything like mine, you’ll get a few side eyes.
✈️ Travelling so far east = Crazy jet lag - Not fun with little ones who want to get ready at 3am.
🍽️ Tiny restaurants aren’t pram friendly, and it was rare anywhere had a baby chair.
🛏️ A family room often turned out to be one double bed for us all to share. Not one place we stayed had a baby cot.
We actually had a great holiday, but it isn’t one for the faint hearted. If a cute Eurocamp holiday in France is level 1 of the family holiday world, this was definitely level 50 😅
💻 I’ve got a blog post on our website with our itinerary and what the 3 week trip cost us ❤️
