If you’re planning a summer family holiday, one of the best times to book is between January and March. This is when you’ll find some of the best deals, free child places, and flexible payment options that make budgeting easier. Major travel providers are offering some fantastic deals at the moment:
- TUI – Tons of great deals updated often
- Jet2holidays – £60 off per person
- On The Beach – Free lounge access, fast track or mobile data
By booking early, you get more availability, meaning better accommodation choices, low deposit options, and the ability to spread the cost over several months.
Package holidays vs DIY – Which is best?
Package holidays
For many families, a package holiday is the most convenient option. It usually includes:
- Free child places
- Transfers
- Ability to pay in instalments
- Extra support from tour operators
- Generally less faff
These holidays take the hassle out of booking and are perfect for busy families who don’t have the time to research and package together the various elements separately.
DIY holidays
If you’re looking for a cheaper and more flexible alternative, a DIY holiday could be the better choice for you. Booking everything separately can help you:
- Save money
- Choose alternative transport eg using public buses instead of expensive transfers
- Visit unique locations that aren’t in the typical tourist hot spots
- Have multi destination trips
Our ‘Start your Journey’ search feature makes it easy to build your own DIY holiday while keeping costs down. You only have to do one search to find both flights and hotels. We only source well rated hotels in good locations to save you time.
