Esterel Eurocamp – An Honest Family Review

Esterel Eurocamp Review
If you’re after a sunshine-filled family break that’s both budget-friendly and packed with fun, Esterel Eurocamp in the South of France is a brilliant choice. These kinds of holidays work so well for families – there’s space to spread out, no rigid routines, and you can plan your days however it suits you. We loved the relaxed, family-first feel. There’s loads to keep the kids entertained without it ever feeling too full-on.

How to get to Esterel Eurocamp
Getting to Esterel Eurocamp is really straightforward, and there are a few options. The easiest route is to fly into Nice Airport, which is around a 45-minute drive from the parc. It’s well connected to UK airports, with lots of flight options, especially in the warmer months.
If you’re keeping an eye on costs, it’s also worth checking flights to Marseille. A bit further away (about 1.5–2 hours’ drive), but can occasionally work out cheaper, especially with budget airlines.
Airport to the campsite?
Once you land, you’ve got two main options: hire a car (which we’d recommend if you fancy exploring the Riviera towns and beaches nearby), or book a private transfer. The roads are easy to drive, and the route from Nice is really scenic.

First Impressions
Pulling into Esterel feels like stepping into a lush family playground. The setting is gorgeous – surrounded by those red Esterel hills and palms, with well-kept paths winding through the site.
Checking in
Check‑in was straightforward, we parked outside the gates and went to the main reception – they then pointed us towards the Eurocamp office. We had to wait until 4pm to collect our key, but were able to use all of the facilities whilst waiting. There is a big colourful playground, a central entertainment area with a modern bar. We ordered some drinks and taught Leo how to play Draughts, before we knew it, it was time to collect our keys.
We each put on our Esterel wristband and hopped in the car to drive right up to our mobile home. It is a big site, with lots of winding roads. The different camping areas are well signposted and we easily found our place.

Esterel Campsite Accommodation
We chose one of the three-bedroom Premium mobile homes for our stay at Esterel, and it worked brilliantly for our family. The open-plan kitchen and living space gave us room to spread out (and for toy piles to grow daily 🙃), and the sliding doors opened right onto a private decked terrace. There was a canopy for shade, which made it perfect for lazy lunches and afternoon snack breaks without everyone melting in the heat.
Inside, everything felt fresh, tidy, and just really well thought out. Having a dishwasher made evenings easier (less time washing up = more time with a glass of wine!), and there was also a kettle, toaster, and microwave, which made breakfast easy to sort.

Esterel Eurocamp Pool
The pool complex and aquapark at Esterel Eurocamp was a huge highlight of our stay! With different swimming pools, including two that are heated in the cooler months, there was always somewhere to splash or relax. Leo couldn’t get enough of the slides – while our baby Luca was obsessed with the indoor jungle-themed pool. It’s all really family-friendly, with shaded areas, a sandy beach-style section, and even poolside entertainment like aqua games and water polo. Whether you’re looking to tire out the kids or just chill by the water, the pool areas had everything we needed.
Indoor pool
The indoor pool is a great space for little ones and ideal in the cooler months. It is jungle themed with an area to relax on sun beds outside. There are small slides and lots of opportunity for splashing around. Leo is 6 and enjoyed playing with his baby brother in here. Children any older may not find it very exciting.
Sun beds?
If you arrive at opening time, it is easy to get a bed as there are lots. We visited in August, and it could be difficult to get a sun bed at the main pool area if we arrived in the afternoon. But most of the time we were chasing the kids around so could just put our towels on a chair! The sandy beach area always seemed to be quiet, and there were always sun beds available there.
Other Esterel Site Facilities
One of the things we loved most about this Eurocamp was just how much was available right on your doorstep. It’s the kind of place where you really don’t have to leave the parc if you don’t want to – and that’s ideal when you’re travelling with little ones and just want an easy, fuss-free day.
Kids club at Esterel Eurocamp
Let’s start with the kids’ clubs, because they’re brilliant. There’s a Baby Club for little ones from 4 months, a Mini Club for ages 4–12, and a Teen Club for the older kids and teens (13–17). Each one has its own fun space, and the activities are age-appropriate and really well organised. Whether it’s crafts, treasure hunts or games in the pool, Leo came out buzzing with stories. There is a colourful playground with equipment for all ages, perfect for letting off steam before dinner. Speaking of which – evening entertainment kicks off at around 9pm, so you’ve got time to eat, wind down, and still catch the shows.
Sports on site?
For sporty families, the site has everything from tennis courts and mini-golf to a skate park, archery range, squash court and a proper fitness studio with free classes. There’s even a little multi-sports area if your kids are into football or basketball.
Esterel Spa
If you’re in the mood for pampering (always!), the on-site spa and wellness centre offers massages, facials, a hammam and sauna – a real treat if you can sneak away for some solo time.
Food
There are restaurants, a snack bar, and a handy mini market and bakery too. We ate in the main restaurant and although it was pricey, the food was delicious. There is a pizza place to pick up a cheaper dinner. It was around 10 euros per pizza. There are some lovely little shops for picking up beach bits or a souvenir or two.
All in all, Esterel feels more like a mini holiday village than a campsite – you really could stay at the camp all week and find something new to do each day.
Things To Do Near Esterel Eurocamp

Saint-Raphaël
Just 15 minutes from Esterel Eurocamp, it’s the closest seaside town and such an easy day out with kids. The town has that classic Côte d’Azur feel without being overwhelming – palm-lined promenades, a big marina full of yatchs, and a relaxed holiday vibe. The beaches here are a mix of sandy stretches and little rocky coves. There is a big ferris wheel and a carousel overlooking the main stretch of sand. The water is calm and shallow in parts, making it great for little ones to paddle.
The centre of town is lovely, with plenty of cafés and ice-cream shops to keep everyone happy, and the church of Saint-Raphaël adds a bit of history if you fancy a wander.
If you’re looking to explore a bit more nearby, Fréjus is just next door with its Roman amphitheatre and family-friendly beaches, while Agay is even closer with gorgeous sandy bays and that laid-back village feel. Both make for easy half-day trips if you don’t want to stray too far from the campsite.

Menton
If I had to pick one place that completely stole my heart this trip, it would be Menton – hands down my new favourite town in the world! Nestled right on the Italian border, it’s got that dreamy mix of French charm with a hint of Italian flair, with colourful buildings, winding streets – everything looks like a postcard. We spent a day here and honestly could’ve stayed longer. The beach is beautiful – soft sand, calm water and so, so blue. The port area is lovely for a stroll, and there’s even a playground right by the sea, which came in very handy when the kids needed to run off their gelato! The town itself is packed with character – pastel houses, pretty churches, and lots of little squares to sit and people-watch. For lunch, we had the most amazing fresh seafood right on the beach. It felt like a real treat, but still super relaxed and family-friendly.
From Esterel Eurocamp, it’s around an hour and a half by car, depending on traffic. We drove along the coast and the views were incredible – definitely worth the trip if you’re up for a day out that feels like a mini-holiday in itself.

Other Places To Visit Near Esterel Eurocamp
If you fancy a change of scenery, the stunning Massif de l’Esterel is right on your doorstep – perfect for hiking or cycling through dramatic red rock landscapes with views over the Mediterranean. It’s a great way to get outdoors and let the kids burn off some energy in nature.
If your family loves history and culture, pop over to Fréjus nearby. This Roman town boasts impressive ruins, an amphitheatre, and a medieval cathedral – fascinating for kids who enjoy stories of the past. And for a bit of sparkle, the city of Cannes isn’t far, famous for its film festival and elegant promenade. It’s great for a leisurely stroll, some window shopping, or an ice cream break by the beach.
Esterel Eurocamp – Overall
Esterel Eurocamp absolutely won us over – it’s one of those rare family-friendly spots that strikes the perfect balance between fun, convenience, and a touch of luxury. The pools kept the kids entertained for hours, the kids’ clubs and playgrounds meant we could relax a little knowing they having a blast, and the location? Simply stunning. We loved how everything was so well thought out – from the handy on-site shops and restaurants to the spa where parents can sneak away for a little downtime. The vibe is relaxed but with plenty going on, so whether you’re after adventure or chill time, Esterel delivers.
If you’re looking for a place that feels like a proper family holiday without the stress, where kids are entertained but there’s still space to unwind, Esterel Eurocamp should definitely be on your radar. We can’t wait to go back!

Bella Italia is located right by lake Garda in Italy, close to Gardaland theme park. We recently stayed and really enjoyed the camp and the location.

Would the speedo rule put you off holidaying somewhere?!
It’s well known that many camp sites and pools in France have this rule, but this is the first time we’ve actually encountered it for ourselves. I hear that some men say they would never, but honestly, everyone looks great and no one is looking at anyone else 😅🫶🏻

Taking your child to a festival is such a great family experience. Most festivals are about celebrating music, arts, dance, diversity and so many wonderful things that children need to be exposed to.
With opportunities to learn about different genres of music, have instrument lessons, make crafts, watch theatre, learn circus skills, meet people from all walks of life and spend some quality time together as a fam - why wouldn’t you 👀😍 Many festivals have dedicated family camping fields, which usually have the best facilities. Many have specific kids fields with endless activities for them to enjoy. We are heading to our second festival of the summer in a few weeks time 🙌🏻

So many of you say you’re nervous about the toilets at festivals… but should you be?!
It depends. I have seen some absolute devastating scenes in the long drops, but sometimes you come across a decent one. The busier the area is, the worse they get. Look for toilets in the quieter areas, and if you’ve got kids head to wicket ground family camping for the best loos on site!

The price of the food though 🫣
This festival is not cheap. It is one of our favourite things we do each year so we take the hit, but we probably spent around £500 whilst there across our family of three, which honestly could have been much more.. we bring a stove, kettle, coffee and cereal to save money on breakfast. You can buy fresh milk on site. Bringing our own spirits saved a lot of money on alcoholic drinks. We brought a lot of snacks for Leo to keep him full longer and not demanding £6.50 smoothies 😅
Did you go this year?! What did you think of the food?!
