Bella Italia Eurocamp – An Honest Family Review
Bella Italia Eurocamp Review
If you’re after a family holiday that won’t break the bank but still packs in opportunities for sight-seeing, sunshine and plenty of fun – Eurocamp is always a solid bet. With parks dotted all across Europe, they’re brilliant for families, especially those with young kids.
For this trip, we chose to stay at their Bella Italia Eurocamp by Peschiera, right on the shores of Lake Garda. We wanted somewhere with a great pool, close to the lake, and near enough to some beautiful towns we could explore – this ticked every box.
How to get to Bella Italia Eurocamp
Flying into Verona would have been ideal (quicker, less faff), but the flights were pricey when we booked. Instead, we opted to fly into Bergamo and hire a car – a much more affordable option that gave us the flexibility to explore. Leo loved watching the mountains roll past from the back seat, and Luca did what every parent hopes for on a travel day… he napped.
You could also fly into Milan or Venice and hop on a train to Peschiera if you’re not keen on driving. There are plenty of options depending on your budget and how adventurous you’re feeling!
Arriving at the Camp
We arrived at the camp at around 16:30, parked up by the reception and went to do the check in. It was really quick and easy to pick up some documents and then head across the road to the Eurocamp office to collect our keys. From here we were given a map with directions to our holiday home plus some information on things we could do in the area.
We drove the narrow roads right to our accommodation. There was a small space to park up front. We had already requested a cot and a high chair for Luca, and we were glad to see these waiting for us on arrival.
Bella Italia Campsite Accommodation
We stayed in a three-bedroom premium mobile home that comfortably sleeps six people. It is perfect if you’re travelling as a family or with grandparents in tow. It had big double doors that opened onto our own private decking (ideal for those post-nap coffees), a shower, and even air conditioning. The main bedroom had a queen-sized bed, and there was a kettle and toaster too, which made affordable breakfasts easy.
The decking was partially covered, giving us some much-needed shade, and best of all – it was fully enclosed, meaning the baby couldn’t make a run for it while we relaxed. A small thing, but it made a huge difference!
Bella Italia Eurocamp Pool
The pool area at Bella Italia was a huge hit with all of us. There are three main pools, four waterslides, and a splash area to keep everyone entertained. There is a separate shallow kiddie pool with its own splash zone, which is perfect for little legs. Just a heads-up: the pools aren’t heated, so if you’re visiting early or late in the season, brace yourself for a refreshing dip! Around the pools you’ll find loads of sun loungers and umbrellas – ideal for a breather while the kids go wild. We often arrived at the pool in the afternoon and had no problem finding somewhere to sit.
Food and entertainment were in no short supply. There are five bars onsite, all serving food. There is a main stage hosting nightly entertainment – a real highlight for the kids. Dining-wise, there is a lot of choice. There’s a terrace restaurant with lovely views, a courtyard spot and a proper Italian restaurant that Leo loved. There is a takeaway for when everyone’s too tired to sit still too. A short walk along the lake (take a left turn as you leave the parc) takes you to a lovely Italian restaurant right on the lake.
We also made good use of the onsite supermarket. It’s got all the essentials, plus a really decent bakery and rotisserie chickens that saved dinner one evening. Make sure to grab a pistachio croissant in the morning!
Things to do near Bella Italia
One of the best things about Bella Italia is its location – it’s right on the shores of Lake Garda, so you’ve got incredible views and lake access just steps away. There’s a small pebble beach where the kids can paddle and throw stones. If you’re planning to spend time there, I definitely recommend packing water shoes. Those pebbles can be uncomfortable on little feet!
Gardaland
You’re also just a stone’s throw from Gardaland (click here for tickets), one of Italy’s top family theme parks. It’s brilliant for all ages – from toddler-friendly rides and splash zones to full-on rollercoasters. It’s only about a 10-minute drive from the parc, or you can hop on one of the shuttle buses that run from nearby Peschiera. If you enjoy amusement parks, you could also check out nearby Movieland and Caneva Waterpark.
Peschiera
Peschiera itself is just a short walk or a cute mini train ride away. The train leaves regularly from the parc and costs €3.50 for a return ticket for adults, or €2.50 for kids. It is free for infants under 2. It’s a gorgeous lakeside town with plenty of places to grab gelato, enjoy a slow lunch, or just wander the pretty streets. We spent a lovely morning there watching the boats and feeding ducks along the waterfront.
Other towns and cities
There are so many other brilliant day trips you can take from Bella Italia if you’re looking to explore beyond the parc.
Verona
Just 30 minutes away by car or train, perfect for a dose of history with Juliet’s balcony, cobbled streets, and piazzas ideal for a leisurely pizza lunch.
Sirmione
Only 25 minutes by car, feels like stepping into a fairytale – with its lakeside castle, gelato shops, and even thermal baths if you’re after a bit of relaxation.
Bardolino
For a more active outing, Bardolino is a beautiful lakeside town with a scenic path that’s great for walking or hiring bikes as a family.
Parco Natura Viva
A safari and wildlife park near Verona, is a full-day adventure the kids will love.
Malcesine
And if you fancy some mountain air, head to Malcesine and take the cable car up Monte Baldo for breathtaking views – ideal if your little ones are in carriers or you’ve got older kids up for a bit of adventure.
Venice
If you’ve got more time (or just fancy something extra special), Venice is absolutely doable as a day trip by train – it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and is every bit as magical as you’d hope.

Bella Italia Eurocamp – Overall
Overall we absolutely loved our stay at Bella Italia and would definitely return. We didn’t feel we had enough time to do all of the things we wanted to do. It is one of Eurocamps bigger locations, and ideal for families looking for a lively atmosphere with a lot to do. Being able to combine relaxing at the park with visiting beautiful Italian towns and the thrill of a theme park makes this an amazing option for all.
We visited Eurocamp as an ambassador for the brand. All opinions shared are our own.
Considering other Eurocamp Locations?
We recently stayed at Esterel eurocamp in the south of France. It’s an amazing camp in a beautiful setting with tons for the kids to do. Alternatively, take a look at Beekse Bergen, a safari park camp in the Netherlands!
We have a great post on Car Free Eurocamps for people who arent keen on hiring a car abroad.

Would the speedo rule put you off holidaying somewhere?!
It’s well known that many camp sites and pools in France have this rule, but this is the first time we’ve actually encountered it for ourselves. I hear that some men say they would never, but honestly, everyone looks great and no one is looking at anyone else 😅🫶🏻

Taking your child to a festival is such a great family experience. Most festivals are about celebrating music, arts, dance, diversity and so many wonderful things that children need to be exposed to.
With opportunities to learn about different genres of music, have instrument lessons, make crafts, watch theatre, learn circus skills, meet people from all walks of life and spend some quality time together as a fam - why wouldn’t you 👀😍 Many festivals have dedicated family camping fields, which usually have the best facilities. Many have specific kids fields with endless activities for them to enjoy. We are heading to our second festival of the summer in a few weeks time 🙌🏻

So many of you say you’re nervous about the toilets at festivals… but should you be?!
It depends. I have seen some absolute devastating scenes in the long drops, but sometimes you come across a decent one. The busier the area is, the worse they get. Look for toilets in the quieter areas, and if you’ve got kids head to wicket ground family camping for the best loos on site!

The price of the food though 🫣
This festival is not cheap. It is one of our favourite things we do each year so we take the hit, but we probably spent around £500 whilst there across our family of three, which honestly could have been much more.. we bring a stove, kettle, coffee and cereal to save money on breakfast. You can buy fresh milk on site. Bringing our own spirits saved a lot of money on alcoholic drinks. We brought a lot of snacks for Leo to keep him full longer and not demanding £6.50 smoothies 😅
Did you go this year?! What did you think of the food?!
