Autism Friendly Holidays: Eurocamp 2025
As a neurodiverse family, finding the right holiday can be challenging. The world isn’t always built with sensory sensitivities, flexible routines, or low-demand environments in mind. But over the years, we’ve discovered something that works beautifully for us: Eurocamp holidays.
These holidays offer exactly what we need – flexibility, space, freedom, and a calm, low-pressure environment that allows our family to truly relax.
There are so many Eurocamps to choose from across Europe. Whether you are looking for something lively with entertainment and waterparks or something more small and quiet – there is something for everyone. We have stayed on sites with private beaches, near lakes and mountains or even close to explore incredible cities like Venice. You can browse the Eurocamp parks here:
Autism Friendly Holidays: Low-Demand
One of the biggest challenges we face when travelling is the pressure of tight schedules, crowded places, social expectations and rigid routines. Eurocamp strips all of that away. There’s no pressure to get dressed for a hotel breakfast, no awkward dining rooms or formal mealtimes – just space to breathe and go at your own pace.
We can cook our own meals (or not), stay in pyjamas all morning if we want to, and pick and choose activities that suit our energy levels and interests on any given day. That flexibility makes such a difference.
Freedom and Space Outdoors
Neurodivergent children often thrive with access to the outdoors and Eurocamp excels at this. Each site we’ve visited has offered green space, lakes, forests, beaches, bike trails, and wide-open playgrounds.
Whether it’s paddling in a pool, exploring a nature trail, or just quietly watching ducks by a lake, there’s always the option to be active or simply take a sensory break. Being outside, away from screens and overstimulation, works wonders for regulation.
Flexibility to Meet Our Needs
We’ve found that being flexible to our family’s needs and adapting is the key to making our holiday work for us. Want to stay close to your accommodation all day? Great. Prefer to fill your days with swimming and mini-golf? You can. Need to leave a busy activity halfway through? No problem.
Autism friendly holidays need flexibility. Many parks offer quiet corners, adaptable facilities, and a relaxed atmosphere, which can be hard to find on more traditional holidays. .
Some of Our Favourite Eurocamp Destinations for Autism Friendly Holidays
We have been to over 10 different Eurocamps and here are three of our favourites:
Bella Italia, Lake Garda
A lively site on the shores of Lake Garda – and while it’s larger and busier, the option to dip in and out of the activities was perfect for us. We loved being able to walk along the lake and find quiet spots even during busy times. There are so many beautiful towns to explore along the lake and also great transport links to visit Verona, Venice and Milan.
Domaine Des Ormes, France
A peaceful, woodland park with a lake, great pools (including an indoor waterpark), high ropes courses, and lots of open space. This one is great for kids who love animals, adventure and nature. Whilst there are so many activities for families at this site, the atmosphere is calm – a big win for sensory-sensitive travellers.
Duinrell, The Netherlands
Part theme park, part forest escape. There’s a brilliant waterpark, and the park is set in woodland, which meant we could enjoy the fun and then retreat to calm when we needed it. With the theme park being on site, we could take breaks as and when needed. The cycle paths around the area are also fantastic and gave us an easy way to explore at our own pace.
Autism Friendly Holidays: Eurocamp overall
Not every holiday suits a neurodiverse family, and we’ve had our fair share of stressful trips. But Eurocamp offers something rare: a genuine balance between fun, freedom, and flexibility.
We’re not bound by strict itineraries. We can be ourselves. And most importantly, everyone in our family can feel safe, comfortable, and included.
If you’re a neurodiverse family looking for your next adventure, we wholeheartedly recommend giving Eurocamp a try.
If you’ve got a favourite Eurocamp, I’d love to hear which one? Let me know!

What do you think of the new hair?! Should I stick to being a scraggy mess? 🙃😅
If my mum could see this she’d laugh, and be glad I’ve sorted my hair out ❤️
