A car gives you more flexibility for exploring beaches and inland areas. A stay without one needs careful planning around your accommodation, transfers and local transport; the Calvi–L’Île-Rousse railway is useful for a holiday based in that area.

Corsica has four airports: Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari. You can also arrive by ferry from mainland France or Italy. Compare the onward journey to your accommodation before choosing your arrival point.

Yes! Beaches, wildlife attractions, boat trips and adventure parks give families plenty of variety. Choose activities close to your accommodation so you can balance exploring with downtime.

Calvi and L’Île-Rousse are worth considering for beaches and the coastal railway. Moriani-Plage and Ghisonaccia have family accommodation on the east coast, while the Ajaccio area is convenient for visiting A Cupulatta. Your best base depends on your airport and the activities you want nearby.

We stayed at Arinella Bianca Eurocamp on our visit and loved it.

For a beach and pool holiday, consider June to September. May can suit sightseeing and outdoor activities, while July and August are hotter. Check seasonal pool and kids’ club opening dates when choosing accommodation.

Keep up to date...

This family holiday is currently £1080 for 4 people (and it can sleep up to six!) and this includes flights, luggage, accommodation and car hire leaving on the 24th October!!

It’s currently £1292 for five people and £1640 for six!

Bella Italia recently had a fire, which they say affected 1% of the camp but everything is still running as usual. I wonder if this is why it’s so cheap?! Anyway, it would make the perfect half term break and this is a bargain.

Comment ME and I’ll send you the link for this holiday plus more great value Lake Garda holidays. You can adjust departure airport to find the best option for you - it’s sometimes worth travelling to a further airport for the savings you can make 💛

Disclaimer: I have learnt running 21km is no joke, I would not recommend anyone be this delusional ✌🏻

I know a lot of the running community don’t like this sort of thing; beginners entering races they have no business entering. And I get it. For me, signing up was complete ignorance during a very difficult time. I wanted to raise money for the hospice that was caring for my mum, and the London marathon was happening at the time - I told my mum I’d run the London marathon next year - which is ridiculous as I’ve never ran in my life (I actually got a place on the Pancreatic cancer UK team 🙏🏻). My brother suggested signing up for this half marathon to help me prepare - so I did. And through grief and life, training started a little later than planned… but here we are. It would have been easy to drop out, say I’ll do it another time, but I’m not in it for the glory. I’m there to try my best, and raise money for an amazing charity. We have raised £11k so far; which is absolutely insane. If I get scooped up, I get scooped up. I want to see how far I can get before I do - and I’ll be a lot more prepared for London next year.

If you’d like to support my run by donating to an incredible hospice, I have the link in my linktree ❤️ (it’s linked in my bio or you can google the travel mum linktree)
