Le Capanne Eurocamp, Tuscany – An Honest Family Review 2026

If you’ve been looking at Tuscany for a family holiday, you’ve probably already seen plenty of beautiful countryside, pretty villages and food that makes you want to book a flight immediately. But when you’re travelling with children, finding somewhere they’ll enjoy just as much is usually a big part of the decision.

We stayed at Le Capanne Eurocamp, near Marina di Bibbona on the Tuscan coast, and it became one of our favourite campsites we’ve visited. There’s a huge fairy-tale sandcastle with waterslides, a brilliant kids’ club, crazy golf and evening entertainment, all in a lovely green setting. There’s also a pool bar with Aperol spritz on tap, so the adults have been considered too.

What we particularly liked was being able to enjoy everything the campsite offered while still getting out to explore Tuscany. So, if you’re considering booking Le Capanne, here’s what we thought and what’s useful to know before you go.

Where is Le Capanne Eurocamp and how do you get there?

Le Capanne is near Marina di Bibbona, on Tuscany’s Etruscan Coast, around 2.5km from the sea. Pisa is the closest airport listed by the campsite, at approximately 65km away, while Florence is another option at around 118km. I’d compare flights into both alongside the cost of onward travel, as any saving on flights can quickly disappear if you end up with a much more expensive transfer.

If you want to explore Tuscany, I’d definitely look at car hire before booking. Having a car makes it much easier to visit different towns, head to the beach and pick up supplies, particularly when you’re travelling with children. There is also a railway station at Cecina, approximately 8km from Le Capanne, but you would need to organise the final part of the journey separately. If you’re considering travelling without a car, check the whole journey and its cost before committing.

That said, there is enough to do at the campsite that you don’t need to go anywhere every day. I’d allow a mixture of days out and days enjoying Le Capanne itself, rather than booking a lovely campsite and then spending the whole holiday trying to leave it.

We also noticed a fenced area close to the pool for families with dogs, which was a thoughtful addition. If you’re planning to bring yours, check the current campsite rules and make sure your chosen accommodation allows pets before booking.

What is Le Capanne Eurocamp like?

Le Capanne had a lovely feel from the moment we arrived. There are trees, flowers and lots of greenery, giving it a relaxed setting, but it’s also a lively family campsite with activities and entertainment. That combination was a big part of what we liked about it. The children had plenty to get involved with, while we could enjoy being somewhere pretty without having to organise something new to keep them busy every hour.

For our family, the routine that worked best was heading to the pool in the morning, returning to our accommodation for Luca’s nap, then exploring in the afternoon or evening. It meant we had proper time to enjoy the campsite, rather than trying to squeeze in a quick swim between outings. If you’re travelling with younger children, having that flexibility makes a big difference. You can work around naps and tiredness while still feeling like everyone is having a holiday.

Le Capanne Eurocamp accommodation

We stayed in a three-bedroom Premium Bungalow at Le Capanne, and it was perfect for us. Having separate bedrooms worked really well with the children, and there was a well-equipped kitchen, making it easy to prepare meals when we didn’t fancy eating out. It also had air conditioning, which we were very grateful for during our summer stay, particularly when we came back in the middle of the day for Luca’s nap.

The accommodation was closer together than at some of the other Eurocamp parcs we’ve stayed at, but this wasn’t a problem for us. We were really happy with our bungalow, and it worked well as a base for enjoying the campsite and exploring Tuscany.

When choosing your accommodation, I’d look carefully at the actual layout rather than simply the name or how many people it sleeps. There are different options available, so compare the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen facilities and outdoor space to see what works best for your family and budget.

It’s also worth checking exactly what’s included with your booking, particularly linen, towels and cleaning arrangements, as these can vary between accommodation types and providers. Check-in was at 4pm during our visit; if you’re arriving earlier, ask whether you can use the facilities before your accommodation is ready and keep your swimming things somewhere easy to reach.

Le Capanne Eurocamp pool areas

If your children judge a holiday on its swimming pools, Le Capanne is likely to go down well. There’s a lagoon-style main pool with gently sloping entry, a children’s pool and hydromassage features, surrounded by greenery and areas for relaxing in the sun. It’s a lovely setting for spending a morning, with different areas to enjoy depending on your children’s ages and swimming abilities.

The part that really stands out, though, is Freddy Water Castle. This huge sandcastle-style structure has towers, passages, water cannons and waterslides, and looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. It’s the sort of thing children spot and immediately want to spend the rest of the day exploring. We spent lots of our mornings around the pools, and the castle was a big part of what made Le Capanne such a hit.

The campsite currently lists waterpark access as included in your stay. Before travelling, check the pool opening dates and rules, particularly if you’re going outside the main summer season. It’s also worth checking slide restrictions for younger children so you know what they’ll be able to use before they’ve already decided which one they’re going on first.

Le Capanne Eurocamp pool bar

The pool bar was another favourite, although admittedly for slightly different reasons. During our stay, an Aperol spritz cost €6, and there was even an Aperol spritz tap. Having somewhere to grab a drink beside the pool added to the lovely holiday atmosphere, and it was a nice little extra while we were spending so much time there with the children. Prices can change, but that gives you an idea of what we paid when we visited.

Beaches near Le Capanne Eurocamp

Although there’s plenty to keep you around the pool, you’ve also got the beach at Marina di Bibbona nearby. The sea is around 2.5km from Le Capanne, so this isn’t somewhere you can walk straight from the pool onto the sand. There is, however, a free beach shuttle, currently advertised from mid-June to early September, which is useful if you fancy a beach day without taking the car. I’d check the operating dates and return timetable for your stay before making plans around it.

Marina di Bibbona has public beach areas where you can take your own towels, alongside beach clubs where you can pay for facilities such as loungers and umbrellas. That gives you some flexibility depending on whether you’re heading over for a quick visit or settling in for the day. If you’re thinking about cycling there, check the route first, as the campsite’s suggested route includes a stretch on the Aurelia road rather than following a separate cycle path all the way.

Food and restaurants at Le Capanne Eurocamp

One of the things I like about a Eurocamp holiday is having options when it comes to food. You can make breakfast, prepare an easy lunch and keep snacks in your accommodation, but you can also head out for dinner when you fancy a night off. That flexibility is particularly useful with children, because some evenings everyone is happy to sit in a restaurant, and other evenings you just need to feed them something familiar and get them to bed.

Le Capanne has an on-site restaurant and pizzeria called La Corte dei Glicini, serving Italian dishes and Tuscan specialities, with children’s menus available too. Around Piazza Grande, there’s also a café, an ice cream shop and a grocery store selling fresh bread, everyday essentials and local produce. During June, July and August, the campsite advertises a weekly market in the square as well.

If you have a car, I’d do a bigger supermarket shop for your main supplies and use the campsite shop for top-ups. Having breakfast and some meals at your accommodation can help keep costs down, leaving more room in the budget for meals out and the various ice creams that inevitably become part of each day.

whatsapp-image-2026-10-19-at-16-45-16-2

Crazy golf and other activities at Le Capanne Eurocamp

There’s plenty to do away from the water at Le Capanne, which is useful if your children still have energy after a morning of swimming and slides. The Adventure Golf course has 18 holes set among greenery, with bridges, a stream and a miniature Leaning Tower of Pisa. It’s a nice option for spending time together when you fancy doing something different without leaving the campsite.

The pedal go-karts were another fun extra. During our stay, they cost €11 for the day, with hire available between 8am and 9pm, and bikes were available to hire too. I’d allow a little room in your holiday budget for things like this, particularly if your children are likely to spot other kids using them and immediately want a turn.

There are also facilities for football, tennis, volleyball and table tennis, plus a LEGO room, which Leo LOVED! Having somewhere to sit and build is a lovely alternative to the more energetic activities, particularly when the children need a quieter break from the pool or some time out of the sun. During our visit, the LEGO room’s advertised opening hours were 10am until midday and 3.30pm until 6pm, so check the current times when you arrive.

For children who would rather keep climbing and exploring, there’s also Freddyground, a castle-themed playground with bridges, towers and slides, advertised as a new addition for 2026. Between the playground, LEGO room and sports facilities, there’s a good mix for different ages and interests. Check which activities are included in your stay and which carry an additional charge.

Le Capanne Eurocamp kids’ clubs

The kids’ club was a real highlight at Le Capanne and one of the best we’ve seen at the Eurocamp sites we’ve visited. It was free and included in our stay, the activities were delivered in English when we visited, and the whole thing felt really well thought out. That’s useful if your child is a little nervous about joining in somewhere new, as being able to understand the team and what’s happening can make those first sessions much easier.

There was a good mix on the programme, including water games, football, dancing, archery and creative activities. The displayed sessions during our stay ran from 10am until midday and from 3.30pm until 6pm, with Saturday listed as the team’s day off. These were the arrangements when we visited, so check the current timetable when you arrive.

The campsite currently lists Mini Club for ages 4-8, Junior Club for ages 9-12 and Teen Club for ages 13-17. The age bands on our holiday timetable differed slightly, so I’d confirm which group your child would join. There was also a baby room listed for younger children, although you’ll need to check the supervision arrangements rather than assuming it operates as a drop-off club.

Learn more about the kids' clubs here
whatsapp-image-2026-10-19-at-16-45-14-4

Le Capanne Eurocamp evening entertainment

Le Capanne has evening entertainment too, so you can head over after dinner without needing to organise a separate evening out. The campsite advertises family performances at its open-air theatre, with a programme that can include music, dancing and magic shows. There was also a mini disco listed during our stay, giving the children something else to look forward to once they’d finally been persuaded out of the pool.

We like having that choice on a family holiday. You can join in when everyone has the energy, or have a quieter evening back at your accommodation when they don’t. Have a look at the programme when you arrive and see what suits your family. If you’re travelling with children who go to bed early or are sensitive to noise, it’s also worth asking where your accommodation is in relation to the entertainment areas.

Places to visit near Le Capanne

One of the reasons Le Capanne worked so well for us was being able to enjoy the campsite while still getting out to see Tuscany. I wouldn’t plan a different excursion every day, because you’ll want time for the pools and activities too, but a few trips out are a lovely way to see more of the area.

screenshot-2026-10-20-133047

Marina di Bibbona

Marina di Bibbona is the obvious option when you fancy some time by the sea. You can plan a beach day, use the seasonal shuttle if it’s running during your stay, or take the car when it suits you. It’s a useful choice for getting off site without planning a big sightseeing trip, particularly if younger children are happier with a bucket and spade than a walk around a historic town.

whatsapp-image-2026-10-19-at-16-45-14-3

Bolgheri

Bolgheri is a pretty village with little shops, restaurants and lovely countryside surroundings. I’d combine a wander with lunch or an early evening meal rather than feeling you need to make a whole day of it. Shorter outings like this can work really well with children, giving you the chance to see somewhere different without spending too long away from the campsite.

screenshot-2026-10-20-132111

Castagneto Carducci

Castagneto Carducci is another historic village to consider if you want to explore more of this part of Tuscany. You can spend some time wandering through the streets, enjoy the surroundings and stop for something to eat. Keep plans relaxed, wear comfortable shoes and allow time for breaks, particularly if you’re visiting in the summer heat.

screenshot-2026-10-20-131904

Volterra

The campsite lists Volterra as around 40km away, making it another option for a day out. With historic streets, a Roman theatre and alabaster workshops, it’s worth considering if your family enjoys exploring towns and seeing a little history. I’d choose a couple of things you particularly want to see, then leave time for lunch and a wander rather than trying to fit everything into one visit.

whatsapp-image-2026-10-19-at-16-45-15-2

Pisa

Pisa is around 65km from Le Capanne, so allow approximately an hour by car, plus time to park and walk to the sights. If your children have seen pictures of the Leaning Tower, it’s a lovely opportunity to show them the real thing, and you can easily build a visit around seeing the tower, having a wander and stopping for something to eat.

whatsapp-image-2026-10-19-at-16-45-16

Lucca

Lucca is around 88km from Le Capanne, so I’d allow roughly 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic and where you park. We visited during our stay and loved it. It’s a gorgeous medieval walled city, and we found it a really chilled place to explore with the children. There was plenty of parking when we visited, the kids enjoyed wandering around the streets and we stopped for gelato. It was one of those outings that didn’t need a complicated plan to be enjoyable.

Things to know before booking Le Capanne Eurocamp

Before booking Le Capanne, I’d check what’s operating for your dates, especially if you’re travelling outside the main summer holidays. Kids’ clubs, entertainment and the beach shuttle may follow different schedules, so it’s worth confirming anything that’s particularly important to your family.

Take a little time to compare the accommodation too. Look at the layout, air conditioning and outdoor space, as well as what’s included with linen, towels and cleaning. If you want to explore Tuscany, price up car hire alongside your flights so you’ve got a realistic idea of the overall holiday cost.

The prices mentioned here are what we paid during our visit, so use them as a guide. It’s sensible to allow some spending money for extras such as go-karts, bike hire and meals out, even if you plan to do plenty of self-catering.

Finally, don’t feel you need to fill every day with plans. There is enough happening at Le Capanne to enjoy spending time on site, and having some slower mornings around the pool was a big part of what made the holiday work so well for us.

Would we recommend Le Capanne Eurocamp?

We really enjoyed Le Capanne, and it became one of our favourite Eurocamp sites we’ve visited. The water castle was a big hit, the kids’ club was excellent and the whole campsite had a lovely feel. Being able to combine that with exploring Tuscany made it a holiday that worked really well for our family.

If you’re looking for somewhere with plenty for children to do, a lovely green setting and the flexibility to enjoy both campsite days and trips out, I’d definitely have Le Capanne on your list. And being able to finish a pool morning with an Aperol spritz certainly didn’t hurt.

We combined our stay here with a few nights at Arinella Bianca Eurocamp, Corsica, and really recommend both parcs.

When I tell you this has boiled my p*ss 🤬

I don’t even need to wonder whether the person who sent me that text was a man or a woman. If a man had to bleed from his willy every month, and deal with fluctuating energy, moods and discomfort - can you imagine what advancements we would have had. Imagine if any of the men running that half marathon had to do it while blood pours from their bits… of course they’d be given the pill which delays it.

This family holiday is currently £1080 for 4 people (and it can sleep up to six!) and this includes flights, luggage, accommodation and car hire leaving on the 24th October!!

It’s currently £1292 for five people and £1640 for six!

Bella Italia recently had a fire, which they say affected 1% of the camp but everything is still running as usual. I wonder if this is why it’s so cheap?! Anyway, it would make the perfect half term break and this is a bargain.

Comment ME and I’ll send you the link for this holiday plus more great value Lake Garda holidays. You can adjust departure airport to find the best option for you - it’s sometimes worth travelling to a further airport for the savings you can make 💛

Disclaimer: I have learnt running 21km is no joke, I would not recommend anyone be this delusional ✌🏻

I know a lot of the running community don’t like this sort of thing; beginners entering races they have no business entering. And I get it. For me, signing up was complete ignorance during a very difficult time. I wanted to raise money for the hospice that was caring for my mum, and the London marathon was happening at the time - I told my mum I’d run the London marathon next year - which is ridiculous as I’ve never ran in my life (I actually got a place on the Pancreatic cancer UK team 🙏🏻). My brother suggested signing up for this half marathon to help me prepare - so I did. And through grief and life, training started a little later than planned… but here we are. It would have been easy to drop out, say I’ll do it another time, but I’m not in it for the glory. I’m there to try my best, and raise money for an amazing charity. We have raised £11k so far; which is absolutely insane. If I get scooped up, I get scooped up. I want to see how far I can get before I do - and I’ll be a lot more prepared for London next year.

If you’d like to support my run by donating to an incredible hospice, I have the link in my linktree ❤️ (it’s linked in my bio or you can google the travel mum linktree)

If you have a young girl, chances are she’s getting a Disney doll for Xmas from me 😂✌🏻

My son will absolutely LOVE this

We already have 50,000 of these, but my friends son doesn’t, and I know he will love them.

We have a lot of this marble run track, but we don’t have one that sticks to a window and automatically takes the ball up and round. Absolute easy win for my kids.

I looked at the rules, it sounds like it will be a fun travel game now Leo is old enough to get involved in card games!

I’ve put the links to these toys in my link tree. If you need help finding it, comment HELP and I’ll send you the links as a DM.

So this year I am determined to be THAT organised mum (and not be running around the shops on Xmas Eve as usual 🫠)

I’ve put the links for these toys in my linktree, if you need help finding it comment HELP and I’ll DM you the links you need 💛 I’ll also add in a link to all of the toys that have 50% off or more.

The links we share are affiliate links.

If you have a young girl, chances are she’s getting a Disney doll for Xmas from me 😂✌🏻

My son will absolutely LOVE this

We already have 50,000 of these, but my friends son doesn’t, and I know he will love them.
