Dubai Is Now a Certified Autism Destination – Here’s What That Means for Your Family

Planning Autism Friendly Holidays can be challenging, from navigating busy airports to finding places that truly understand sensory needs. That’s why Dubai’s new status as a Certified Autism Destination™ is such exciting news.

This world-famous city isn’t just about luxury and adventure, it’s now leading the way in inclusive travel, with autism-friendly services across the city.

What It Means to Be an Autism Friendly Destination

Being recognised as a Certified Autism Destination™ isn’t just a label – it’s a commitment. To earn this certification, cities must meet high standards in autism awareness, accessibility, and inclusion. For Dubai, this means visitors will find, neurodiversity-friendly support across the entire travel experience – from the airport and hotels to attractions, entertainment venues, and transport systems.

Each participating location has undergone in-depth staff training on autism and sensory needs, detailed on-site audits, and the introduction of custom sensory guides. You’ll also see hidden disability lanyard programs and autism-inclusive support to help reduce overwhelm and build confidence for families. It’s a major step toward making travel less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone.

Autism Friendly Holidays – Beaches

Dubai’s beaches are also becoming more inclusive for neurodiverse visitors.

Several public and resort-managed beaches now include sensory-friendly elements such as quieter zones away from busy areas, shaded rest spaces, and easy beach access.

Trained staff are available at many beachfront locations to assist families who may need extra support. Some beaches also participate in the hidden disabilities lanyard program, helping staff identify and respond appropriately to individual needs.

Trips to the beach can be overwhelming for neurodiverse families but with calm areas and staff awareness, Dubai’s beaches are a great option for neurodiverse families.

You don’t often see all inclusive August prices like this.

The benefit of an all inclusive holiday is that most of your holiday spends are covered, meaning budgeting is a lot easier. We love a buffet with our picky eaters. It makes meal time so much easier.

I’ve put the link to this deal in my link tree, or comment AUGUST and I’ll send it you in a DM 💛

£266pp is a fab package holiday price for the Easter holidays. There’s a heated indoor pool for the kids to splash in, and the cooler weather makes it a great time to explore this gorgeous island.

Comment EASTER and I’ll send you the link for the hotel. Alternatively check out my linktree as it’s currently on there.

Ksamil is a town on the Albanian Riviera and has had some very mixed reviews over the years, and I think a lot of that comes down to when you visit.

We absolutely loved our trip. It was incredibly affordable too - we paid £190 for six nights in an apartment that slept five! (This was in 2023) I’ve written a full blog post about the trip over on the website, where I’ve shared some great-value accommodation options and tips if you’re thinking about booking something similar.

Comment BLOG and I’ll send you the link along with some cheap flights and info on how to get there!

Expect things like:

🍻 £1.50 pints
🦐 Seafood dishes for under £10
☀️ Beautiful, crystal-clear beaches

We visited in May, when there were very few other people around. The town was just starting to open up for the season, the weather was lovely, and it felt relaxed and easy to enjoy.

June also seems like a great time to visit – a few more things open, but still without the peak summer crowds.

July and August appear to be a very different experience. The town is quite small, and it struggles to cope with the number of visitors in peak season. It can feel very crowded, and prices - particularly for things like sun loungers - can become very steep because of the demand.

So if Ksamil is on your list, timing really is everything!
