Hotel BQ Delfin Azul, Majorca: A Family Review
Family Holiday at Hotel BQ Delfin Azul
– A Full Circle Moment
We travelled to Alcudia as a family of 7 including a 2 year old. We chose this hotel as this was the first destination my husband and I travelled to when we met. We always swore we would bring our child back one day, the day arrived but with parents, aunties and uncles in tow too!
Why We Chose Hotel BQ Delfin Azul
Our connection to Alcudia made this hotel a special choice for us. But beyond the sentiment, BQ Delfín Azul is a fantastic family-friendly hotel with everything you need for a fun, relaxed break in the sun.
Located just 600 metres from Alcudia Beach, it offers the perfect base for days spent on the white sand, paddling in the crystal-clear sea, and grabbing an ice cream from the local beachfront cafés.
Getting to Hotel BQ Delfin Azul: Transfer Time
From Palma de Mallorca Airport the transfer time is around:
- 1 hour by coach
- 45-50 minutes by private taxi – check out prices and book in advance on Suntransfers
It’s a smooth journey and easy with kids, especially after a short flight from Liverpool!
Perfect for Families
BQ Delfín Azul is tailored for families, and it shows:
Outdoor Play Areas & Splash Zone
Our son absolutely loved the colourful splash zone and outdoor play area. The mini slides, soft flooring, and rainbow water sprinklers kept him entertained for ages whilst we took it in turns to relax nearby on the loungers.
Comfortable Family Rooms
Most of the rooms are modern, although there were some APPARENTLY that were not renovated! We needed 3 rooms between us all, and all were what the website showed ,bright and super clean – with a small fridge, comfy beds and blackout curtains (essential for nap time!). Ours had a pool view which was lovely to wake up to.
Kids’ Club & Entertainment
Although we didn’t use the kids’ club this time as our son was a little too young, it was great to know it was there. The evening entertainment was fun and friendly – especially the kids’ disco, which was a hit with all the children (and a few grown-ups too!).
Beach Days at Alcudia
A short walk from the hotel (around 600m) brings you to Alcudia’s stunning beach. It’s ideal for families – shallow waters, soft sand, and plenty of beachfront restaurants and shops to grab a bite or stock up on souvenirs (yes, we did get fridge magnets!).
Food & Dining
The hotel offers buffet-style meals with loads of variety—something for even the fussiest of eaters! There’s a great mix of local dishes and family favourites like pasta, pizza, and fresh fruit. We also enjoyed a few meals out in Alcudia’s old town, which is just a short taxi ride away and worth exploring. On this particular trip, we chose the half board option and often opted to use the hotel pool bar for a quick lunch!
Final Thoughts
Coming back to Alcudia with our child – and extended family – felt like everything coming full circle. BQ Delfín Azul gave us the perfect mix of comfort, fun, and nostalgia.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel in Majorca with an unbeatable location, playful atmosphere, and great value, this one’s a winner.

The last time I posted about this, there were so many comments from people saying you shouldn`t drink around children. Which I find mad as a child of the 90`s who grew up in working class England when pub culture was at its peak.
Kids entertaining themselves, a glass of wine with friends... If someone wants to open a soft play bar, I`ll be your first customer 🫡

Menorca is a fab shout for a family holiday 🍹
Short transfers ✔️
Calm, shallow beaches ✔️
No chaos, just a relaxed vibe ✔️
It’s one of the easiest places we’ve travelled with kids. Safe, simple, and really stress free. Think beach days, ice creams, and slow evenings without the hectic scenes you can often get on Mallorca and Ibiza. We decided we wanted to live there on the first day of our holiday 😝
We went in August which was a little too hot for us and very busy on some of the most popular beaches. The next time we go we will try May/June or September/October.
Comment MENORCA and I’ll send you a link to our favourite Menorca hotels with splash parks plus a video I made about a cheap boat trip we did 💛

We visited Billund having no idea what to expect, all we knew was that it is the birthplace of LEGO (which was enough in itself to make us want to visit!) We visited LEGOLAND, LEGO House, Lalandia and Wow Park. It’s a very walkable city and really great for families.
Annoyingly Ryanair dropped a lot of routes there, so you can only fly directly from London and Edinburgh. A great alternative is flying to Copenhagen and getting the train. Some people even drive there!
If you go to our blog and search Billund, we have a couple of posts on there about the attractions we visited.
