It’s not just Dubai that has amazing family friendly resorts. You can also find some amazing hotels with waterslides in Abu Dhabi that have slides, splash pools and mini aqua parks that keep children entertained for hours. After years of Dubai family holidays Abu Dhabi has taken the crown for our favourite family holiday destination in the UAE. It feels like a more family friendly, calmer, more natural destination and we have fallen in love with it.

If you are like me and always look for a hotel with a waterslide or great kids pool then I have compiled the best hotels with Waterslides in Abu Dhabi. Whether you’re travelling with toddlers, primary-school kids, teens or a mix of ages, these hotels all offer a great balance of water fun for the kids and relaxation for parents. As much as I love being continuously splashed and dunked by my kids I do find that if there are water slides and a great pool scene it can give us parents a few minutes of rest!

And because it’s great to combine your stay with Yas theme park days, I’ve included estimated taxi times to Yas Island also.

One of the most popular all-inclusive family resorts in Abu Dhabi and one we have personally tried and tested. It feels luxurious but genuinely family friendly. Your kids will never be bored at this hotel and it offers a lot of activities for kids and adults.

This is another one of our favourites as the pool scene I would argue is the best in Abu Dhabi. We always stay here on a half board basis. Although the waterslide isn’t the biggest for older children my tween still enjoys it as it has its own secret little pool. Its a really unique kids pool set up.

• Twisty cave leading to a “secret” pool with a small waterslide
• Shaded toddler splash pool (a huge win in warmer months)
• Enormous main pool with perfect depth for play

This is a large luxury hotel but still has a calm family feel to it. It’s elegant without being intimidating for families.

A great value choice that still delivers proper water fun. Great half board and All Inclusive options here and in a great area where you can walk out onto the Corniche. Don’t be put off by the hotel looking older in style from the outside it’s a fab choice.

Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi has quickly become one of the best luxury family hotels in the city thanks to the addition of its brand new Aqua Park. If you’re looking for a hotel where the kids can happily spend hours on the waterslides while you relax by the pool, this one definitely deserves a spot on your shortlist.

The resort itself is stunning, with a private beach, multiple swimming pools and an all-inclusive option that makes family holidays so much easier. The views from the hotel are incredible and you can grasp how Abu Dhabi is made up of lots of interconnected islands.

Although centrally located, it feels like a beach resort thanks to private access to the Nation Riviera Beach Club  reached via an air-conditioned tunnel (very helpful in summer). Some really lovely touches for kids here including kiddie spa treatments!

The waterslide here is within the kids pool and genuinely fun, making it great for primary-aged kids.

Imagine stepping into a palace with a fantastic pool scene and kids club. Its Iconic, grand and surprisingly excellent for families. This resort also has a fantastic beach scene with regular camel rides. This is probably the most luxurious hotel in Abu Dhabi and has a big wow factor. You have to try the gold cappuccino!

The grounds are enormous  for children to explore.

One of the closest beachfront resorts to Yas Island, perfect if theme parks are a big part of your trip but you want more of a beach resort vibe. This hotel is often priced really well and although older in style it gets consistently great reviews. The pool slide area looks fab for primary school children, whilst the main pool is a great size for older children.

A true feeling of being in the city but on the beach at this hotel. A lovely lagoon style pool and a beachfront hotel with a city scene around it. The waterslide here isn’t huge or high-adrenaline and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s the perfect “first proper slide” for little ones who want the thrill without the intimidation factor. Nice shallow entry pool and a swim up bar. This is a great central hotel with a great price point and consistently good reviews.

It’s not the flashiest resort in Abu Dhabi but it’s comfortable, welcoming and incredibly practical with young children.

Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa

If you’re craving something that feels completely different from the usual beach and pool resorts and you want your holiday to be memorable for reasons other than just “beach, pool, repeat”  this one delivers something different.

Set against the beautiful dunes of the Abu Dhabi desert, this resort is one of those places that makes you breathe a little deeper the moment you arrive. It’s quiet, peaceful and wonderfully spacious perfect for families that want to combine water fun with nature, space to roam, and experiences you’ll be talking about for years.

The pool here doesn’t have an aqua park or loud music but what it does have is space. Even the poolside atmosphere feels calm and grounded, which is exactly what many busy families secretly crave on holiday.
