FAQs

The French Riviera (or Côte d’Azur) is the stunning stretch of Mediterranean coastline in the south of France. It runs roughly from Menton (near the Italian border) to around Saint-Tropez – including lovely places like Nice, Cannes, Antibes and more. Think beachy towns, colourful old streets, and beautiful sea views everywhere you look!

Nice is the main hub of the Riviera, and it’s fab for families. It has a beachfront promenade, parks, markets, and easy transport links to other towns, so you can base yourself there and explore the whole region by train or bus. There’s also a big airport which makes travel really easy from the UK.

Honestly, there are loads, but Èze is a real hidden gem. It’s a medieval hilltop village with cobbled streets, flower-covered buildings and unreal sea views. Not ideal with a buggy (lots of steps!) but great for a half-day wander if you’re up for it. For something more practical with kids, Antibes is beautiful and super family-friendly.

May, June, and September are ideal – sunny and warm but without the mega crowds (or prices) of July and August. It’s perfect for beach days, sightseeing, and still warm enough for little ones to paddle in the sea.

It can be, but it really doesn’t have to be. Skip the super-luxury spots like Monaco and Saint-Tropez, and you’ll find plenty of affordable towns with family-friendly accommodation, free beaches, and budget eats (hello, fresh baguettes and picnic lunches!). Travel out of peak season and use public transport to save even more.

ad I think this might be my new favourite water park in the world! It’s taken my top space from another amazing park, YAS Waterworld in Abu Dhabi.

Why did I rate Volcano Bay so much?
- Incredible theming as you’d expect from a Universal park.
- Lots for my 2 and 7 year olds to do together.
- Free swim nappies! (Little things like this show you a park gets it when it comes to families)
- It isn’t too big. Some waterparks are huge and difficult to get around. This felt quite compact while still having lots to do.
- Picnic benches by the splash area! Great for having a beer and snack in peace while the kids play.

We are currently visiting Orlando on a package holiday with @britishairwaysholidays

I’ve written a blog over on our website with some more info on the park. Comment VOLCANO and I’ll send you a DM with the link.

The last time I posted about this, there were so many comments from people saying you shouldn't drink around children. Which I find mad as a child of the 90's who grew up in working class England when pub culture was at its peak.

Kids entertaining themselves, a glass of wine with friends... If someone wants to open a soft play bar, I'll be your first customer 🫡

Menorca is a fab shout for a family holiday 🍹

Short transfers ✔️
Calm, shallow beaches ✔️
No chaos, just a relaxed vibe ✔️

It’s one of the easiest places we’ve travelled with kids. Safe, simple, and really stress free. Think beach days, ice creams, and slow evenings without the hectic scenes you can often get on Mallorca and Ibiza. We decided we wanted to live there on the first day of our holiday 😝

We went in August which was a little too hot for us and very busy on some of the most popular beaches. The next time we go we will try May/June or September/October.

Comment MENORCA and I’ll send you a link to our favourite Menorca hotels with splash parks plus a video I made about a cheap boat trip we did 💛
