Where can I fly to from Belfast 2026
Where can I fly to from Belfast?
Did you know Belfast has two airports? Belfast City Airport, also known as George Best Belfast City Airport is located just outside the city centre. A very handy airport if you live locally or are flying into Belfast for a visit.
Getting to Belfast City Airport
Getting there is easy. You can take the Airport Express 600 bus from Grand Central Station for £2.30 one way. Tickets can be bought from a ticket machine in the station or you can purchase from the driver.
If you prefer to travel by train, you can take a train to Sydenham rail halt, and it’s a short walk across a footbridge to the station. You must use the stairs to the cross the footbridge, so this option may not be suitable if you have reduced mobility or will be travelling with a lot of luggage or a pram.
For more information and timetables on buses and trains to Belfast City Airport visit Translink.
A taxi is a convenient way to to get to and from the station. A typical fare to central Belfast can range from £15 to £20, depending on traffic and exact destination.
If you are driving be sure to check out our partners at Looking4Parking and use our discount code TRAVELMUML4P to pre-book your parking for a discounted rate.
City Airport is on the smaller side, but you will still find a Starbucks and a couple restaurants as well as Duty Free and WH Smiths once through security.
Flights from Belfast City Airport
Most departures from this airport are to England and Scotland. As there are less budget airlines flying out, flights can be more expensive than flying from the International Airport, but this airport certainly wins for convenience if you are travelling to or from Belfast City Centre.
- Aer Lingus
Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Isle of Man, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Newquay, Southampton - British Airways
London Heathrow, London City - easyJet
Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, London Gatwick/Luton, Manchester, Palma de Mallorca, Edinburgh (from Oct 26 2025) easyJet do packages from Belfast City airport to UK destinations. You can check out easyJet holidays if you would like to book a flight & hotel package. - KLM
Amsterdam Schiphol - Loganair
Aberdeen, Inverness
You can check and compare flights on Skyscanner
Belfast International Airport
Slightly further from the city centre is Belfast International Airport. While still on the smaller side, it offers a lot more variety than the City Airport. It takes a bit more time to get to, but there are still lots of easy ways to get there.
Getting to Belfast International Airport
You can get a bus from Grand Central Station. Airport Express 300 bus for £9 one way. Tickets can be bought from a ticket machine in the station or you can purchase from the driver. This journey takes about 40 minutes
There is also the Aircoach which will connect Derry/Londonderry to Belfast International. I would recommend booking your tickets in advance as they can increase in price. You can book online here.
If you are driving and need parking you will also want to book in advance. There are several options available right at the airport. Booking early usually means better prices. Check out the airport car parks here.
Hotels near Belfast International Airport
Need a place to stay the night before an early flight? You can not get any closer than Maldron Belfast International. Located directly across from the terminal building, a two minute walk, you can stay in bed as long as possible.
Flights from Belfast International Airport
- easyJet – the largest carrier at Belfast International, serving a broad range of UK, European, and Mediterranean destinations. Destinations include: Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Poland, Morocco, France, Czech Republic, Tunisia and domestic flights to other UK cities.
- Jet2.com – holiday routes to Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Croatia, Austria, Cyprus, Iceland and more
- Ryanair – Budget routes across the UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, France, Malta and more. A great option if you are looking for flights only.
- TUI Airways / TUI Holidays – seasonal flights to holiday destinations such as Mallorca, Antalya, Crete, Rhodes, Madeira and longer haul destinations like Orlando and Cancun.
easyJet, Tui and Jet2 all offer flight only as well as package holidays.
Where can I fly to from Belfast: Overall
Belfast is a convenient place to start your holiday, especially for those based in Northern Ireland. With many transport options to get you to and from the airports you can start your holiday stress free. There are plenty of destinations to choose from. From city breaks to holidays in the sun, the choice is yours. While Belfast City Airport offer a very convenient location if travelling to/from the city centre, Belfast International Airport has more choice of flights and often better prices, and is just a 25 minute drive from Belfast city centre.

The last time I posted about this, there were so many comments from people saying you shouldn`t drink around children. Which I find mad as a child of the 90`s who grew up in working class England when pub culture was at its peak.
Kids entertaining themselves, a glass of wine with friends... If someone wants to open a soft play bar, I`ll be your first customer 🫡

Menorca is a fab shout for a family holiday 🍹
Short transfers ✔️
Calm, shallow beaches ✔️
No chaos, just a relaxed vibe ✔️
It’s one of the easiest places we’ve travelled with kids. Safe, simple, and really stress free. Think beach days, ice creams, and slow evenings without the hectic scenes you can often get on Mallorca and Ibiza. We decided we wanted to live there on the first day of our holiday 😝
We went in August which was a little too hot for us and very busy on some of the most popular beaches. The next time we go we will try May/June or September/October.
Comment MENORCA and I’ll send you a link to our favourite Menorca hotels with splash parks plus a video I made about a cheap boat trip we did 💛

We visited Billund having no idea what to expect, all we knew was that it is the birthplace of LEGO (which was enough in itself to make us want to visit!) We visited LEGOLAND, LEGO House, Lalandia and Wow Park. It’s a very walkable city and really great for families.
Annoyingly Ryanair dropped a lot of routes there, so you can only fly directly from London and Edinburgh. A great alternative is flying to Copenhagen and getting the train. Some people even drive there!
If you go to our blog and search Billund, we have a couple of posts on there about the attractions we visited.
