Newcastle Airport – Staying In June?
For those of us lucky enough to be going on holiday from Newcastle in June the wait is nearly over – it’s nearly time for your holiday. But are you looking forward to the the stress of the dash up the A19 at 3am for your early check in? No, didn’t think so.
It doesn’t have to be like that, with a range of hotels at Newcastle Airport – the perfect way to get your holiday off to a relaxing start.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newcastle International Airport
Directly opposite the aiport the DoubleTree Hilton Newcastle International Aiport is the luxurious way to start your holiday – and trust us, once you’ve stayed here it’ll be hard to start your holiday any other way.
The hotel features spacious, soundproofed rooms with luxury bedding, gym (no idea why), and an on-site Italian restaurant, Fratello’s. And did I mention that there’s a selection of cookies left on your pillow upon your arrival?
With rooms from only £71 per night, it’s excellent value for money for the quality and convenience provided (and the cookies).
Novotel Hotel Newcastle Airport
This hotel has its own pool! Perfect for relaxing before a flight.
Novotel Newcastle International is a great value place to stay at Newcastle Airport.
The four star hotel is only a five minute drive from the airport but don’t forget if you bring the car to make use of our Newcastle Aiport parking discount.

Ksamil is a town on the Albanian Riviera and has had some very mixed reviews over the years, and I think a lot of that comes down to when you visit.
We absolutely loved our trip. It was incredibly affordable too - we paid £190 for six nights in an apartment that slept five! (This was in 2023) I’ve written a full blog post about the trip over on the website, where I’ve shared some great-value accommodation options and tips if you’re thinking about booking something similar.

Expect things like:

☀️ Beautiful, crystal-clear beaches
We visited in May, when there were very few other people around. The town was just starting to open up for the season, the weather was lovely, and it felt relaxed and easy to enjoy.
June also seems like a great time to visit – a few more things open, but still without the peak summer crowds.
July and August appear to be a very different experience. The town is quite small, and it struggles to cope with the number of visitors in peak season. It can feel very crowded, and prices - particularly for things like sun loungers - can become very steep because of the demand.
So if Ksamil is on your list, timing really is everything!
