Costa Del Sol With kids – Things To Do
Costa Del Sol With kids – Things To Do
Why the Costa del Sol is Perfect for Families
Water Parks on the Costa del Sol
Aqualand Torremolinos – The Biggest Water Park in Málaga Province
Aqualand is the largest water park in the province and a guaranteed full-day adventure. With 14 high-adrenaline slides for thrill seekers, 15 children’s attractions and an 18-hole mini golf course, there’s something for every age group. The park spans 70,000m², with 40,000m² dedicated to attractions and the rest to green spaces and gardens- helpful when you need a break from the sun.
Travel Mum Tip:
Arrive at opening time during summer months. Head straight to the most popular slides first, then enjoy the children’s areas once queues build. Bring flip-flops ,the ground gets very hot by midday.
Parque Acuático Mijas – A Family-Friendly Alternative
Slightly smaller and easier to manage than Aqualand, this water park in Mijas covers 34,000m² and offers a mix of slides, pools and themed children’s areas. There are picnic areas and loungers, plus a bus service from Fuengirola town centre and free parking, -ideal if you’re not keen on city driving.
Best for: Families with mixed ages who want a slightly calmer water park experience.
Wildlife Parks and Zoos on the Costa del Sol
Top tip: It’s compact enough to explore in half a day without exhausting little legs.
Wear comfortable trainers and bring plenty of water – you’ll do more walking than expected.
It’s easy to combine with lunch at the marina, making it a relaxed half-day plan rather than a full commitment.
Outdoor Adventure Parks on the Costa del Sol
Check height restrictions before booking and ensure everyone wears trainers.
Tip: Bring water, sun hats and trainers – Málaga heat plus climbing equals tired (but happy) kids.
Indoor Soft Play and Family Lounges
You can actually sit down and enjoy a drink while your child plays within sight.
Planning Your Family Holiday on the Costa del Sol
-
Book popular parks online in advance during school holidays.
-
Arrive early in summer to avoid queues and peak heat.
-
Mix high-energy days (water parks, adventure parks) with calmer wildlife or indoor experiences.
-
Check height and age restrictions before promising specific activities.
-
Always bring sunscreen, refillable water bottles and hats.
Final Thoughts: The Best Things to Do on the Costa del Sol with Kids
-
One big water park day
-
One wildlife experience
-
One outdoor adventure
-
One indoor or relaxed activity
-
And plenty of beach time in between

The last time I posted about this, there were so many comments from people saying you shouldn`t drink around children. Which I find mad as a child of the 90`s who grew up in working class England when pub culture was at its peak.
Kids entertaining themselves, a glass of wine with friends... If someone wants to open a soft play bar, I`ll be your first customer 🫡

Menorca is a fab shout for a family holiday 🍹
Short transfers ✔️
Calm, shallow beaches ✔️
No chaos, just a relaxed vibe ✔️
It’s one of the easiest places we’ve travelled with kids. Safe, simple, and really stress free. Think beach days, ice creams, and slow evenings without the hectic scenes you can often get on Mallorca and Ibiza. We decided we wanted to live there on the first day of our holiday 😝
We went in August which was a little too hot for us and very busy on some of the most popular beaches. The next time we go we will try May/June or September/October.
Comment MENORCA and I’ll send you a link to our favourite Menorca hotels with splash parks plus a video I made about a cheap boat trip we did 💛

We visited Billund having no idea what to expect, all we knew was that it is the birthplace of LEGO (which was enough in itself to make us want to visit!) We visited LEGOLAND, LEGO House, Lalandia and Wow Park. It’s a very walkable city and really great for families.
Annoyingly Ryanair dropped a lot of routes there, so you can only fly directly from London and Edinburgh. A great alternative is flying to Copenhagen and getting the train. Some people even drive there!
If you go to our blog and search Billund, we have a couple of posts on there about the attractions we visited.
