Union Lido Mare Eurocamp

If you want a family holiday with enough on site to keep everyone entertained from morning until night, Union Lido is hard to beat. This enormous holiday park has waterparks, direct beach access, playgrounds, kids’ clubs, sports, restaurants and evening entertainment, giving families plenty of freedom without needing to plan a day out every five minutes.

It isn’t always a cheap Eurocamp option, though. Prices can be high during the school summer holidays, particularly for the newer accommodation, so it’s worth comparing dates and travelling outside peak season if you can.

We stayed at Union Lido Mare in Cavallino on Italy’s Adriatic Coast, and it turned out to be one of our favourite trips. The huge waterparks were an obvious attraction, but its location was another major selling point. Venice is close enough for a family day trip, allowing us to combine a fun-packed resort holiday with a city we had always wanted to explore.

How to get to Union Lido Mare Eurocamp

There are a few different ways to get to Union Lido from the UK, depending on your budget and how you like to travel. The easiest option is to fly into Venice Marco Polo – it’s the closest airport, about a 40-minute drive from the parc, and well connected to UK airports. If you’re trying to keep costs down, it’s also worth checking flights to Treviso (served by budget airlines like Ryanair) – it’s a bit further out but still very doable. Once you land, you can either hire a car (great if you want to explore the area), or book a shuttle transfer straight to the parc. For the super organised, there’s even a direct bus from Venice Piazzale Roma to Cavallino.

If you prefer a package holiday, Jet2holidays now package flights, luggage and car hire together making booking much more convenient.

Restaurants and Bars

You certainly won’t go hungry at Union Lido. The resort has four bars and a huge choice of places to eat, whether you want a quick lunch between pool sessions, an easy family takeaway or a more relaxed evening meal.

The on-site pizzeria served what was possibly some of the best pizza we’ve ever eaten – which is a bold claim to make in Italy, but we’re sticking to it! For something a little more special, Ca’ Rustica serves classic Italian dishes in a lovely setting, while Al Mare, beside Aqua Park Laguna, is a great choice for fresh seafood.

There are takeaway options too, which we really appreciated on evenings when the children were exhausted and eating on our decking felt far more appealing than attempting a civilised restaurant meal.

Evening Entertainment

The family entertainment continues into the evening, with live shows, music, dancing and performances aimed at younger guests.

Supermarkets

Union Lido also has two well-stocked supermarkets, making self-catering incredibly easy. We could pick up everything from breakfast supplies and snacks to drinks, toiletries and the inevitable emergency bottle of sun cream, without needing to leave the resort.

Four-Legged Friends Welcome

One thing we didn’t expect (but absolutely loved!) was just how dog-friendly Union Lido is. Honestly, if you’re travelling with a furry friend, they’ll be living their best holiday life here! A lot of the park is dog-friendly, with dedicated areas that make it super easy to bring your pooch along without feeling restricted.

There’s even a dog shop on site for treats, toys, and anything you might have forgotten, plus a dog swimming pool (yes, really!) where they can have a splash and cool off. And if your pup loves the beach as much as the kids do, you’ll love the Dog Beach – a sandy stretch just for pups, complete with shaded loungers for owners and plenty of space for zoomies.

Even if you’re not bringing a dog, it’s lovely to see how well catered for they are. It really adds to that friendly, everyone’s-welcome vibe that makes Union Lido feel so special.

Things To Do Near Union Lido Mare

Visit Punta Sabbioni

Just a 10-minute drive or an easy bike ride from Union Lido, Punta Sabbioni was one of our favourite little spots to explore as a family. Most people head here to catch the ferry across the lagoon to Venice (which is a fun day out with the kids), but there’s actually loads more to see and do if you have a bit of time. One of the best hidden gems is Forte Vecchio (also called Forte Treporti) – an old military fort that’s completely free to enter. It’s brilliant for kids to run around, with grassy paths, tunnels to explore, and even a few cannons to spot! There’s also a lovely beach nearby if you fancy a paddle or picnic, and the views across the water at sunset are just beautiful.

Cavallino-Treporti Market

Visiting the Cavallino-Treporti market is such a lovely way to spend a morning and get a real feel for local life. It’s usually on a Tuesday, but definitely check with the campsite or locals just to be sure before you go (there’s nothing worse than turning up and finding an empty square!). The market is full of fresh fruit and veg, local cheeses, breads, pastries, and loads of other yummy bits – perfect if you fancy picking up things for a picnic or a relaxed dinner back at the parc. There are also stalls with clothes, toys, beach bits, and handmade goodies, so the kids will love having a little browse too. It’s busy in a fun way, and the atmosphere is really friendly. Definitely bring a big shopping bag… you’ll need it!

Our Top Tips for Staying at Union Lido Mare

Union Lido is enormous, and a little forward planning can make a big difference – particularly during the busy school holidays. These are the things we found most useful, plus a few details we wish we’d known before arriving.

• Book as early as possible. Union Lido is extremely popular, and the best-value accommodation can disappear quickly during the school holidays. Booking early gives you more choice of mobile-home layouts and dates, as well as prices that are slightly less likely to make your eyes water. We left it late and missed our first choice – lesson learned.
• Look beyond the accommodation photos. Check the number of bedrooms, bed sizes, decking, air conditioning and distance from the facilities that matter most to you. Union Lido is huge, so a peaceful location and a central location aren’t necessarily the same thing. If you have mobility needs, a baby who naps or children who struggle with noise, ask about the position of your accommodation before travelling.
• Check exactly what your booking includes. Jet2’s current Union Lido Eurocamp information says that bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning are included when you book a package with them, but always confirm this on your own booking before packing. Inclusions can differ depending on how and when you book. When comparing DIY vs booking as a package, take the extras into consideration.
• Pack a small arrival kit. Bring enough toilet roll, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, kitchen roll and breakfast supplies to get you through your first evening and morning. There are well-stocked supermarkets on site, but nobody wants their first holiday activity to be an emergency hunt for a washing-up sponge.
• Bring bikes or non-electric scooters if you can. The resort is vast and little legs tire quickly, so having wheels made getting around much easier. Bikes can also be hired on site, including bikes with child seats. Electric bikes and electric scooters aren’t permitted for travelling around the resort, so don’t take them assuming you’ll be able to use them.
• Save a photo of the resort map on your phone. It takes a while to work out where everything is, particularly when you’re moving between the accommodation, beach, waterparks and restaurants. It’s also worth agreeing on an obvious meeting point with older children in case anyone gets separated.
• Budget for pool and beach loungers. Entry to the two aqua parks is included, but loungers and parasols at Aqua Park Laguna are sold separately as Pool Sets. Beach loungers are also chargeable. Bring lightweight towels and factor the extra cost into your budget if having a guaranteed base beside the water is important to you.
• Don’t spend the entire holiday at Aqua Park Laguna. It’s the biggest and most eye-catching waterpark, but Speedy Island is particularly good for younger children. Try both early in the holiday and work out which suits your family best rather than automatically returning to the busiest pool every day.
• Don’t overlook the beach. With so much happening around the pools, it would be easy to forget that Union Lido has a beautiful sandy beach directly outside. Early mornings and evenings were especially lovely. We took a picnic tea down at sunset and it became one of the most relaxed meals of our holiday.
• Pack water shoes. The sand and surfaces around the pools can become hot in the sun, while splash areas can be slippery. Water shoes made it much easier for the children to move between the pools, paths and beach.
• Take insect repellent and a plug-in mosquito deterrent. Union Lido sits beside the Venetian Lagoon, and mosquitoes can be bothersome during warm evenings. Repellent is available locally, but it’s easier to arrive prepared – particularly if your children tend to react badly to bites.
• Plan a mixture of restaurant meals and easy decking dinners. The restaurants and takeaways are excellent, but some of our favourite evenings involved collecting food and eating outside our accommodation while the children wound down. If there’s a particular restaurant you want to try, book it early in your stay rather than leaving it until your final night.
• Treat Venice as a full day out. The usual journey involves travelling to Punta Sabbioni and then taking an ACTV waterbus into Venice. Check the latest bus and boat times before leaving, and compare individual tickets with a day pass if you plan to use more than one waterbus. Leave more time than you think you need for the return journey.
• Take a compact pushchair or carrier to Venice. The city involves plenty of walking, crowds, steps and bridges. A lightweight pushchair is much easier to manage than a large travel system, while a carrier can be invaluable with babies.
• Leave some days completely unplanned. There is far more to do at Union Lido than you can realistically fit into one short stay. Avoid filling every day with excursions – you’ll want time for the pools, beach, entertainment and those wonderfully lazy evenings on the decking.
• If your budget allows, stay longer than you think you need. We left feeling as though we had barely scratched the surface. Next time, we’d stay for longer, slow the pace down and possibly add a couple of nights in Venice at the end.

Union Lido really is one of those places that just gets family holidays. With its amazing pools, clean beaches, kid-friendly facilities, and loads to do both on-site and nearby, it’s the kind of spot where you can totally relax – or fill your days with adventure. Whether you’re splashing in the water park, cycling to Punta Sabbioni for a ferry to Venice, exploring local markets, or hopping between colourful lagoon islands, there’s something for everyone. It’s fun, easy, and full of those little memory-making moments that make a holiday really special.
