Best Hotels in the Canaries for Large Families (With 2 Bedroom Apartments & Family Suites)

Finding a hotel that works for a larger family can be one of the trickiest parts of planning a holiday. Many hotels advertise “Family rooms”, but these often mean squeezing everyone into one room with a sofa bed – not ideal when travelling with three or more children.

The Canary Islands are a fantastic choice for large families, offering year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches and a great selection of resorts with two-bedroom apartments, spacious suites and family-friendly facilities.

Whether you’re looking for a self-catering apartment with plenty of space, a resort with splash pools and entertainment, or a winter sun escape during the colder months, these are some of the best hotels in the Canary Islands for families of 5, 6 or more!

Our Favourite Hotels in the Canaries for Large Families

1. HD Parque Cristóbal, Tenerife

  • Spacious bungalows with separate bedrooms – sleeping up to 6
  • Kitchen facilities
  • Swimming pools – heated during winter months
  • A choice of board options available
  • Kids’ clubs and entertainment
  • Great location close to beaches, shops and restaurants

A fab option when looking at hotels in the Canaries for large families – especially if you’re travelling during the winter months.

5. Sands Beach Resort, Costa Teguise, Lanzarote

Although the Canaries have a warm climate all year round, when searching for hotels in the Canaries for large families, a heated pool is still a bonus as the water can be chilly in the cooler months!

Final Thoughts on Hotels in the Canaries for Large Families

Finding the right accommodation can be one of the biggest challenges when planning a holiday for a large family, but thankfully there are plenty of fantastic hotels and resorts across the Canary Islands offering spacious family rooms, suites and apartments that can sleep five or more. Whether you’re looking for a beachfront escape in Lanzarote, a lively family resort in Tenerife or a relaxing break in Gran Canaria, there are plenty of options that offer the space and facilities larger families need.

If you’d like even more comfort, you might also want to consider hotels with two bedrooms and two bathrooms – they’re ideal for larger families who want a little extra privacy and convenience.

Check out my guide to hotels with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms

If you can’t find a hotel that suits your family, it’s also worth considering a villa. Villas can often offer even more space, multiple bedrooms, private pools and fully equipped kitchens, making them an excellent choice for larger families or those travelling with grandparents or extended family. They can also provide great value, especially when the cost is shared between several people. Check out my post on Villa Holidays for Families – A 2026 Guide.

Whichever type of accommodation you choose, planning ahead and booking early will give you the best chance of securing the perfect place for your next family holiday in Spain.

Today is this Legends birthday! Eternally 21 (in mind at least 👴🏻!) 🥳🎂🎈

We’ve had such a rubbish year with my mum being ill and then losing her 💔 But it’s shown me how lucky I am to have such amazing people in my life. I couldn’t wish for a better Dad and Grandad for my kids ❤️

@alancccccccccc we all love you lots - here’s to more adventures (we’re off on one today 🤩🙏🏻)

Merlin’s Second Day Free Promo is Back ‼️

A lot of you missed it last time and then I had hundreds of messages from people saying “but there’s only one day of park tickets 🥲” - These promotions pop up sporadically, I believe this will be the last one of the year! It’s a fab time to book if you fancy the Halloween events 🎃

It works on stays from now until 22nd October. £59pp is a price I just found for a family of 4 staying in a Woodland Barrel on a Monday night in September.

Comment LEGO and I’ll send you the link for LEGOLAND and Alton Towers - you’ll also find these and other links in my linktree.

Check weekend prices too as they aren’t massively more expensive. We share affiliate links which earn us commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.
