Hotel Club Aguamarina Review 2025
Imagine you’re looking for a family friendly spot where the kids are kept busy, from toddlers to teens, where you get to relax with a cold drink. That place exists: Club Hotel Aguamarina in Arenal d’en Castell, Menorca. I know a lot of people confuse Menorca with Mallorca, but stick with me, it’s quieter, charming, and completely family‑oriented.
Here is our honest family Hotel Club Aguamarina review.
Hotel Club Aguamarina Review: Getting there
First thing, it’s super easy: Menorca’s airport in Mahón is around 24 kilometres (around 25–30 minutes drive) away from the hotel. If you book an all-inclusive package, shared express transfers are usually included, keeping travel stress minimal. This hotel is usually the first stop to drop off, and the last to pick up – we were only on the coach less than half an hour which scores massive points for us!
The hotel is perched slightly above a bay, 100 metres from the sand-down a pleasant garden path. You’re not right on the beachfront like in some spots, but it’s close enough that you’re always connected to sea, sun, and smoothies from the food truck!
Hotel Club Aguamarina Review: Good for Kids?
Agualand is their entertainment universe, run by a lively team of 20+ international entertainers and their silly, charming mascots, the Aguanimals. It’s structured to cover all age groups:
- Agualand Babies (0–3): a soft‑padded play area where parents stay close by. Safe, colourful, and toddler‑friendly.
- Agualand Kids (4–7): full‑on fun from about 09:00 – 19:00 – crafts, team games, mascot lunches, scavenger hunts. All included, all entertaining.
- Agualand Juniors (8–12): sportier, challenge-based activities with the same cute mascot vibe.
- Agualand Teens & adults: from noon through early evening – fitness classes, water games, mini sports tournaments.
Every night there’s a kids’ disco at 20:15, then a family show at 21:30, on the main stage near Block B. Expect music, foam parties, silly musicals, something for everyone. It feels like a mini-festival every evening, but safe and inclusive! We have visited many resorts with in house entertainment, and i must confess these guys blew it out the water every single day!
There is constantly something going on around the main pool of Block B, with great music and games for everyone! The evening shows consist of white parties, snippets from films such as The Greatest Showman & full on family raves! ( There is even a foam party one of the days which is a proper laugh!)
Pool paradise: Slides, quiet zones & variety
The hotel has five pools, each catering to a different mood:
- Two family pools where most of the action happens.
- A dedicated adults-only pool, quieter with sea views, great if you want to switch off.
- A toddler splash pool, gated and super safe, perfect for tiny ones. This has its own splash park with toddler friendly slides!
- And a mini waterpark with slides designed for older kids! Twisty, fast or gentle depending on height and courage.
Aguanimal’s Park & Playground
Right next to the pools is Aguanimal’s Park, which is apparently the largest kids’ playground in Menorca. It’s full of:
- Pirate‑ship frames, sand pits with mini diggers etc
- Zip-line, bouncy castles, ball‑pools, themed inflatables (shark, boat) These open at 5 or 6pm if i remember correctly!
- Open into the early evening (until around 23:00) when weather allows.
So even after splash time winds down, kids can keep going. It’s perfect for when you want to chill nearby but still be within arms‑length.
There is also a mini golf course & ping pong area which you need to leave a small deposit to use, but you get it back once you have returned the equipment!
Hotel Club Aguamarina Review : Rooms
The hotel has about 549 rooms spread over two blocks (A and B), plus a few apartments in block C above the on site shop! Rooms are compact but functional:
- Air-con, TV with UK & international channels, fridge, safe (for a daily fee), and most have balconies or terraces, many with sea & pool views. Family rooms include bunk beds and can sleep up to 4.
- They’re clean and tidy, but decor is dating back to the 70s. This doesn’t bother us at all as we are barely in our rooms, but just be prepared for less modern accomodation!
- Wi-Fi is free and was one of the best we have had! We had fast speed coverage throughout the hotel, outside areas aswell as the beach!
It’s not luxury, but its practical and family-tailored rooms do their job without fuss.
Nearby experiences when you want to wander
You don’t need to leave the resort, but it’s nice to stretch legs and explore:
- Arenal d’en Castell beach: calm, shallow, Blue‑Flag quality. Snorkel gear, paddleboards and pedalos available right at the shore. Great for sand‑play and safe swimming.
- The Camí de Cavalls coastal path begins nearby, easy flat sections good for stroller walks or gentle hikes. Lovely views, fresh sea air.
- Mahón (Maó), the island’s capital: just a 25–30 min drive or bus ride away. Harbour promenade, shops, local markets, cafés.
- Fornells, around 15 minutes by car: charming fishing village known for caldereta de langosta (lobster stew). Clipper mealtime win.
- Rent a car if you want to explore further, Ciutadella, Monte Toro hill, secret coves – all reachable within an hour. A car gives you freedom, but the hotel has a bus stop right outside if you prefer to use public transport!
We decided to take a trip into the capital of Mahón during our stay! We got a taxi which cost us around 25 euros each way and a car seat was provided. Jasper was desperate to go on a glass bottom boat which cost us 18 euros each per adult (2) and under 3 were FREE!

Why we reckon Hotel Club Aguamarina is one of the best family resorts
Let’s break it down:
- Clearly designed for families. Every aspect, from the age-divided kids clubs to the playgrounds and pools, everything is built with kids (and parents) in mind.
- Broad variety: toddlers, tweens, teens, adults, even grandparents can find something comfortable and fun without stepping on each other’s toes.
- On‑site convenience: food, entertainment, sports, pools, and beach in one place. Minimal walking required; maximum ease.
- Safe, clean, and inclusive: gated toddler pools, supervised activities, clear rules about children’s hygiene areas, family-friendly environment.
- Great value: an all-inclusive package typically includes transfers, meals, drinks, kids’ club and entertainment, plus sports and beach access. Extras are optional and clearly stated if there is a surcharge!
Things to know
- Keep in mind food is buffet-friendly but somewhat repetitive. Some parents bring small snacks or favourite treats to supplement, especially for picky eaters.
- Pools can feel chilly in early May or late September, check temperature and timing if your little ones are sensitive to cooler water.
- Evening shows are loud and festive – if your child is sensitive to noise, the option to watch from a distance or skip is there.
- There is an on-site supermarket, hairdressers and beauty spa. Supermarket has the usual tourist prices, but a short walk (less than 5 mins) is another local one which is slightly cheaper!
- There is an on-site bike rental shop should you fancy a cycle one day!
- ATM is located in both receptions
Hotel Club Aguamarina Review – Overall….
We spent 10 nights at this hotel and it was hands down one of the best family holidays we have had! Honestly, the hotel itself is not the fanciest or most luxurious, but if you are parents looking for somewhere to keep children of all ages entertained – then this place is fantastic.
TRAVEL MUM SCORE: 4/5
Would be a solid 5/5 if the food options were more varied.
