Huttopia Foret des Vosges – An Honest Family Review 2025

Huttopia Foret des Vosges

For a long time, I thought relaxation and family holidays just didn’t mix. Between the packing, planning, and constant activity, I’d usually come home more tired than when I left.

That was until we found a style of holiday that really works for us – one that combines nature, family adventure, and space to unwind. Our recent stay at Huttopia Forêt des Vosges in France ticked every box and genuinely exceeded our expectations.

A Cosy Cabin in the Woods at Huttopia Foret des Vosges

We stayed in a beautiful log cabin at Huttopia Forêt des Vosges, right in the heart of the holiday park and surrounded by woodland bursting with autumn colour. The cabin slept six comfortably, with two doubles and two singles – perfect for our family. Inside, it had a log burner, a cosy living room, and everything you could need to cook (including an outdoor Plancha grill we couldn’t resist using, even on a chilly October evening!).

While we love being active on holiday, part of getting away is slowing down. Having such a comfortable base made that easy. Between swimming, biking and family activities, we spent a blissful afternoon drawing, playing board games and simply reconnecting – the kind of slow, happy time that holidays are really about.

Family Fun for Every Age

If you’re looking for a holiday packed with activities for all ages, Huttopia Forêt des Vosges is the place. There’s both an outdoor pool and a covered heated pool, making it great year-round. (We’re that slightly mad family who braved the outdoor pool in mid-October, and loved it!)

During school holidays and weekends, Huttopia’s “Little Trappers” programme runs a brilliant mix of nature-based family activities. We tried ziplining, soap-making and raft-building, all included in the price of our stay. If the weather had been kinder, we’d have definitely been out paddleboarding on the lake too!

Our Trip Highlights of Huttopia Foret des Vosges

  1. E-Bikes
We love exploring, but I’ll admit I’m not fit enough to tackle mountain tracks on a regular bike! The E-bikes available to hire on-site were a total game-changer. With a quick switch to “turbo,” it felt like being gently carried uphill – such a fun way to explore the local area. There’s a great range of sizes and even trailers for families with younger kids.
  2. Forest Spa
Yes, you read that right – a forest spa! Guests can book a private slot, and sitting in a hot tub under the trees overlooking the lake was pure bliss. It was the perfect way to end an adventure-filled day.

Getting to Huttopia Foret des Vosges

We flew from Manchester to Basel – a quick, affordable flight for less than £50 return. Basel airport is right on the border of France, Switzerland and Germany, which is pretty fascinating (you literally choose which country to exit into!).

We picked up our hire car on the French (Mulhouse) side, as we were staying within France, and the drive to Huttopia Forêt des Vosges took about 1 hour 45 minutes. We broke up the journey with a stop in Colmar, a picture-perfect town that looks like something out of a fairy tale – absolutely worth visiting en route.

Finding the right Huttopia Holiday for you

Huttopia has seven “Village” sites across France, each designed with families in mind: think outdoor pools, forest spas, and a full programme of nature-inspired activities.

Beyond that, there are Huttopia campsites all over Europe – some by the sea, others tucked away in the countryside – but all with the same ethos: embracing nature without sacrificing comfort.

Huttopia Forêt des Vosges – Overall

For families who love the outdoors but still want some comforts, Huttopia Forêt des Vosges hits the spot. From e-bikes and forest spas to cosy cabins and campfire cooking, it’s adventure and relaxation rolled into one. We left already planning which Huttopia site we’ll visit next – and that’s always the sign of a great holiday.

This is a great family holiday option. There are a variety of themed onsite hotels at Portaventura and also peripheral hotels that often include tickets.

Comment “Spain” and I’ll send you a DM with some links. For a lower budget option, look at peripheral hotels. We loved the onsite Colorado creek but it is on the more expensive side of how you can visit.

Links we send are affiliate links. We aren’t asked to post or promote particular places.

The first thing we noticed online is how many “regulars” this place seems to have. People don’t just go once, they return year on year. The best sign of a great place. And after visiting we can see why. Although it is expensive, you get what you pay for. The ease of everything already being covered means the holiday feels like a holiday. We didn’t have to say no to the kids when they wanted to do an activity, they could do whatever they wanted.

To help you with the cost I’ve got you a discount code for £100 off per person! Which is a huge saving for a family. Comment “potters” and I’ll send you the code and more info. You need to book this month for either May bank hol, May half term, or the summer hols.

We were invited for a PR visit but had no pressure to post. I always tell brands that we won’t promote something if we don’t think it’s fab 🫶🏻❤️
