Merlin Offers Explained: How to Save Money On Theme Parks and Attractions – A 2026 Guide
If you’re planning a trip to Alton Towers, LEGOLAND Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park or any other Merlin attraction across the UK, there are plenty of Merlin offers that can help you save money. From Annual Passes and hotel packages to 2-for-1 vouchers and seasonal promotions, it isn’t always obvious which deal is the best value.
To make things easier, we’ve rounded up all of the different Merlin offers available throughout the year, explaining how they work, who they’re best for and when you should consider using them.
Merlin Offers: Which Attractions Are Included?
One of the best things about Merlin offers is that they cover so many brilliant family attractions across the UK. Merlin Entertainments owns some of the country’s most popular theme parks, including Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park Resort, as well as iconic London attractions like the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, The London Dungeon and Shrek’s Adventure! London.
Beyond these, you’ll also find Warwick Castle, SEA LIFE centres across the UK, Blackpool Tower attractions and loads more, meaning there are plenty of opportunities to make the most of your tickets or Annual Pass.
Merlin Annual Passes Explained
If you’re planning more than a couple of Merlin days out this year, it’s well worth looking at an Annual Pass before you buy individual tickets. Lots of people assume they’re only worthwhile if you’re visiting every month, but that’s not necessarily true. Depending on the attraction and the time of year, many families find they’ve already made their money back after just a few visits.
Merlin currently offers three different Annual Passes, and the right one really depends on how flexible you can be.
The Essential Pass (£139) is the cheapest option and is ideal if you’re happy to visit during quieter periods, as it comes with a number of exclusion dates throughout the year.
The Gold Pass (£239) is the one we’d recommend for most families. It gives you access on almost every day of the year, includes free standard parking, discounts on food and shopping, money off selected short breaks and regular bring-a-friend offers. If you’re planning to visit a couple of theme parks as well as somewhere like Warwick Castle or SEA LIFE, it can work out excellent value.
For families who practically live at Merlin attractions, there’s also the Platinum Pass (£299). This removes the exclusion dates completely and adds even more benefits, including free friend tickets and extra discounts throughout the year.
Annual Pass Sales
One of our favourite Merlin offers to watch out for is the Annual Pass sale. Several times throughout the year, Merlin reduces the cost of selected passes, making it an even better time to buy if you’re planning lots of family days out. Sales often appear around spring, the summer season, Black Friday and the New Year, although exact dates vary from year to year. If you’re not in a rush, waiting for one of these promotions can save your family a substantial amount.
Annual Passes for Individual Parks
Not every family needs access to every Merlin attraction, which is why some parks also offer their own Annual Passes from £64 per year. These can be a great option if you know you’ll mainly be returning to one destination, such as Alton Towers or Thorpe Park, rather than travelling around the country.
It’s always worth comparing the cost of an individual attraction pass with a full Merlin Annual Pass, as sometimes the price difference is smaller than you might expect.
‘Twice the Fun’ Merlin Offers
Among the newest Merlin offers, the Twice the Fun promotion has quickly become a family favourite. Eligible Theme Park tickets include a completely free second visit, giving you even more value from your booking. Depending on the promotion running at the time, your second visit may be used at the same theme park again or at another participating Merlin theme park, such as LEGOLAND Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures or Thorpe Park.
‘2nd day free’ Short Break Merlin Offers
If you’re planning to stay overnight, there are often Merlin offers available on short breaks too. Throughout the year, selected hotel packages include a second day in your chosen theme park completely free, allowing families to spread their visit across two days instead of rushing to fit everything into one.
These packages usually include accommodation, breakfast and access to the resort’s entertainment, making them excellent value if you’re travelling from further afield.
Merlin Offers for Parents with Young Children
Families with younger children can also take advantage of Merlin offers such as Parent & Toddler Passes. Available on selected off-peak dates at Alton Towers, LEGOLAND Windsor and Chessington World of Adventures, this ticket includes entry for one adult and one child aged five or under from as little as £26, making it a more affordable way to visit.
Merlin Offers for London Attractions
Many people don’t realise that Merlin offers also extend to London’s most famous attractions. If you’re planning to visit more than one, combination tickets allow you to bundle attractions together and save money compared to buying separate admissions.
Whether you want to experience the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, The London Dungeon or Shrek’s Adventure! London, multi-attraction tickets are usually the cheapest option.
2-for-1 Vouchers
Throughout the year, there are often Merlin offers available through promotional partners. Keep an eye out for vouchers on products from brands such as Kellogg’s, Cadbury and Coca-Cola, as well as occasional newspaper promotions, as these can offer excellent savings on selected attractions.
Which Merlin Offers Are Best for Your Family?
With so many different Merlin offers available throughout the year, there’s no one-size-fits-all deal. The best option for your family will depend on how often you plan to visit, whether you’re looking for a single day out, a weekend break or multiple trips throughout the year, and which Merlin attractions you want to experience.
If you’re only visiting once, booking online in advance or taking advantage of a 2-for-1 voucher could save you the most money. Planning a weekend away? Keep an eye out for short break packages that include a free second day in the park. If you’re hoping to visit several attractions over the course of the year, a Merlin Annual Pass could offer the best value, while London visitors should consider a multi-attraction ticket to make the most of the city’s biggest Merlin attractions.
Before you book, it’s always worth spending a few minutes comparing the latest offers. A little planning can make a big difference to the overall cost of your family day out, leaving you with more money to spend on treats, souvenirs or even your next adventure.

People often worry about leaving August holidays to the last minute, but we’re seeing some insane prices at the moment. Under £400pp for flights, luggage, transfers and 7 nights accommodation, in August, is great. You just have to be flexible in when and where you go.
