Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie – An Honest Family Review 2026

be-Live-Experience-Marrakech-Palmeraie

Last summer, my 6-year-old son and I spent an unforgettable week at the Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie, and it turned out to be the ideal spot for a sun-soaked, family-friendly adventure in Morocco.

The hotel is located in the peaceful Palmeraie area, just outside the busy centre of Marrakech – far enough to escape the hustle, but close enough to explore when you want to dive into the colour and chaos of the Medina (especially thanks to the free daily shuttle the hotel provides). As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed into a resort that felt relaxed, safe, and tailored for families.

What really stood out was how well set up the hotel is for children. There’s a large pool with an extended shallow area – perfect for little swimmers – and a splash park that quickly became my son’s favourite hangout. The all-inclusive setup made meals and snacks easy and stress-free, with a good variety of food options that even picky eaters will find something from.

One of the highlights of our trip was booking a camel riding and dinner experience in the Agafay Desert directly through the hotel. It was the perfect balance of adventure and cultural experience, made super convenient by having everything arranged for us on-site.

If you’re looking for a relaxed, well-equipped base for a family holiday in Morocco, keep reading – this hotel delivered much more than we expected, and we already can’t wait to return.

Getting There

We flew into Marrakech from Manchester Airport on a four-hour flight, which was part of a package deal we booked with Love Holidays. It all ran really smoothly and took the stress out of organising things separately. That said, if you’re looking to build your own trip, flights from the UK to Marrakech can be incredibly cheap – I’ve seen some for as little as Ā£19 per person, so it’s definitely worth checking!

The hotel is located just outside the city in the peaceful Palmeraie area, about a 25–30 minute drive from Marrakech Menara Airport. We pre-booked a private transfer through SunTransfers, which cost around Ā£20 each way for both of us. It was quick and easy, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re arriving late or just want a smooth start to your trip. Alternatively, you can grab a local taxi at the airport or arrange a shuttle directly through the hotel.

Our Room at Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie

be-Live-Experience-Marrakech-Palmeraie

We stayed in a Double Room and we were genuinely blown away by how fancy it was when we arrived – especially considering how affordable this hotel was as part of our package deal. It felt far more luxurious than we expected for the price. The bed was absolutely huge – super comfy and easily big enough for both of us to sprawl out after a long day in the sun.

It was spotlessly clean, modern, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

There were some great practical touches too:

  • The air conditioning was a total lifesaver in the Moroccan heat.
  • We had a mini fridge, which was so handy for keeping bottled water cool throughout the day.
  • There was also a safe, which gave me peace of mind for storing passports and valuables.

For what we paid, the room felt like an absolute steal. It wasn’t just somewhere to sleep – it was a cool, quiet retreat that we genuinely looked forward to coming back to after busy days exploring Marrakech.

The Pool Area At Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie

The Pool At Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie We absolutely fell in love with the pool setup at Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie. There's a huge outdoor pool surrounded by sun loungers and parasols on a spacious terrace. Then there's and a separate kids’ pool with a slide and splash park, perfect for families with young children. My son was obsessed with this slide. No, really - he must have gone down it at least 100 times a day! I’m not exaggerating. It was the highlight of every afternoon and kept him happily entertained while I relaxed nearby. The splash park is a fun, safe zone for kids, complete with jets, sprinklers, and shallow paddling areas-ideal for younger ones who just want to splash around. Meanwhile, grown-ups could unwind by the main pool or grab a snack at the adjacent poolside grill. Although some past reviewers mentioned that during peak times the pool area could feel a bit crowded, in our experience it never felt overwhelming - more active than tranquil, but always manageable even during busier moments. If your child loves water play, this is seriously one of the best pools you’ll find in a family-friendly Moroccan resort.

Dining at Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie

One of the biggest highlights of our stay at this hotel was without a doubt the all-inclusive buffet restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the variety and quality of the food exceeded all expectations. Every day brought something new to the table – literally! As a vegetarian who often struggles to find good options while traveling, I was genuinely impressed by the changing menu. There was always something fresh, flavorful, and satisfying for me to enjoy. One evening, they even served sushi, which was a total surprise and a real treat!

My son absolutely loved the serve-yourself ice cream bar (which became a twice-daily ritual!) and the delicious pancakes available during breakfast. The hotel also has a dedicated kids’ section in the buffet, thoughtfully designed to cater to younger palates with fun, familiar favorites.

Things To Do Near Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie

If you can drag yourself away from the pool, there’s so much to see nearby:

  • Marrakech Medina – Bustling souks, food stalls, and historic sights like the Koutoubia Mosque. Great for older kids with lots of energy!

  • Jardin Majorelle – A beautiful botanical garden with vibrant blue architecture. A peaceful break from the city chaos.

  • Agafay Desert – Not quite the Sahara, but just as beautiful for a day or evening trip. We booked the sunset dinner experience through the hotel and it was incredible.

be-Live-Experience-Marrakech-Palmeraie

The hotel’s excursion desk can help arrange everything and were genuinely helpful when planning family-friendly options.

Tip: If you’re planning to explore the Medina (Old Town), the hotel runs a free shuttle several times a day, which is incredibly handy. I’d also suggest going in a morning before the heat and crowds become overwhelming.

If you prefer to book excursions in advance, you can book the Agafay Desert experience we did by clicking here.

To do it with an added quad biking experienceĀ  click here.

Or click here to see more activities available in Marrakech!

Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie Kids’ Club

My son really loved going to the kids club here an came out with lots of new friends to play in the pool with. It felt very safe with a sign-in process and a secure, air-conditioned area.

The only issue we had was that there seemed to be some confusion on the first day over what time it closed. I was originally told to collect him at 4:30pm, so I popped up to the room, however it actually closed at 4pm, so the staff were searching for me. I felt so bad!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Marrakech is generally safe for tourists, especially in popular areas like the Medina, Gueliz, and major tourist attractions. However, as with any major city, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings. Petty crimes like pickpocketing and scams (especially involving unofficial guides or aggressive sales tactics) can occur, particularly in crowded markets and tourist hotspots.

To stay safe:

  • Stick to well-lit areas at night.

  • Politely decline overly persistent offers from street vendors or unofficial guides.

  • Keep valuables secure and avoid flashing expensive items.

  • If you’re unsure about directions or advice, ask your hotel or a trusted local.

The best times to visit Marrakech are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is warm but comfortable, making it ideal for exploring the city, visiting souks, and enjoying rooftop terraces.

  • Spring: Blooming gardens and pleasant temperatures.

  • Autumn: Fewer crowds than spring, and still great weather.

  • Summer (June to August): Can be extremely hot – it hit 50ā„ƒ while we were there – but hotel pools and resorts are a good escape.

  • Winter (December to February): Cooler with occasional rain, but still milder than many European destinations.

Marrakech is full of vibrant sights, sounds, and culture. Top attractions include:

  • Jemaa el-Fnaa – The bustling main square with food stalls, performers, and market energy.

  • Souks of the Medina – Maze-like traditional markets selling everything from spices to lanterns.

  • Jardin Majorelle – A beautiful garden and former home of Yves Saint Laurent.

  • Koutoubia Mosque – The largest mosque in Marrakech, with a stunning minaret visible for miles.

  • Bahia Palace – A 19th-century palace with intricate tilework and gardens.

  • Traditional Hammams – Experience Moroccan spa culture at places like Hammam de la Rose.

  • Day trips to the Atlas Mountains – Easily arranged from the city.

The official languages are Arabic and Berber, but French is widely spoken and used in signs, menus, and shops. In tourist areas, many people also speak English.

The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). While some high-end hotels or tourist spots may accept euros or credit cards, most local shops, restaurants, and taxis operate strictly in dirhams.

  • ATMs are widely available and usually offer good exchange rates.

  • Currency exchange is possible at the airport, banks, and authorized exchange offices.

  • Cash is king in the souks and local areas, so keep some small bills and coins on hand.

  • Tipping is customary (5–10% in restaurants or small change for services).

It’s recommended to drink bottled water. While locals may drink tap water, travelers often experience stomach issues from unfamiliar bacteria. Bottled water is cheap and widely available.

  • Walking: Best for the Medina (old city), but streets are narrow and can be confusing.
  • Taxis: Cheap but negotiate the price before getting in, or ask them to use the meter.

  • Tourist buses: Hop-on hop-off buses are available.

  • Carriage rides (calĆØches): Scenic but agree on the price first.

Marrakech is a Muslim city, and modest dress is appreciated, especially in the old city (Medina).

  • For women: Covered shoulders and knees are respectful.

  • For men: Shorts are fine, but avoid being shirtless in public.
Loose, light clothing is ideal for the heat.

Marrakech can suit any budget. You’ll find:

  • Affordable street food and market shopping

  • Mid-range restaurants and riads

  • Luxury resorts and designer boutiques
Haggling is common in the souks, so don’t be afraid to negotiate.

  • Greet with ā€œSalam Alaikumā€ (peace be upon you).
  • Use your right hand for eating and giving/receiving items.

  • Always ask permission before taking photos, especially of people.

  • Tipping is customary (around 5–10%).

  • Tagine – Slow-cooked stew in a clay pot
  • Couscous -Often served with vegetables or meat

  • Pastilla – Sweet and savory pie with chicken or pigeon

  • Harira – Hearty soup, especially popular during Ramadan

  • Mint tea – Apparently a Moroccan must… Niah and I weren’t fans.

Where Can I book Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie?

I always recommend checking multiple providers to compare deals. We booked out trip through Love Holidays in July 2024 and paid just over £1,600 for a week all-inclusive.

What We Loved!

Honestly, there was so much to love about this hotel for families:

  • The splash park was a huge hit with my son – perfect for cooling off and letting off steam in shallow area.

  • The main pool is massive, and what we appreciated most was the huge shallow section. It meant that my son could play and paddle confidently while I relaxed nearby.

  • One of the highlights of our trip was a camel riding and dinner experience in the Agafay Desert, which we booked directly through the hotel. It was a magical evening – riding camels through golden light, followed by a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars.

The staff were warm and helpful, and the vibe around the hotel was relaxed but still had plenty of activities going on if you wanted them.

Final Verdict

Be Live Experience Marrakech Palmeraie ended up being one of my favourite hotels we’ve ever stayed at. It felt safe, welcoming, and catered to families without sacrificing comfort. If you’re looking for a mix of sun, culture, and a bit of adventure – this is a great choice.

Travel Mum Score: 4.5 out of 5

We loved the relaxed atmosphere, fantastic pool set-up, and ease of getting around thanks to the free shuttle and in-house excursion bookings. Just be aware that it’s not right in the city centre – though we didn’t find this to be a problem.

This is a great family holiday option. There are a variety of themed onsite hotels at Portaventura and also peripheral hotels that often include tickets.

Comment ā€œSpainā€ and I’ll send you a DM with some links. For a lower budget option, look at peripheral hotels. We loved the onsite Colorado creek but it is on the more expensive side of how you can visit.

Links we send are affiliate links. We aren’t asked to post or promote particular places.

The first thing we noticed online is how many ā€œregularsā€ this place seems to have. People don’t just go once, they return year on year. The best sign of a great place. And after visiting we can see why. Although it is expensive, you get what you pay for. The ease of everything already being covered means the holiday feels like a holiday. We didn’t have to say no to the kids when they wanted to do an activity, they could do whatever they wanted.

To help you with the cost I’ve got you a discount code for Ā£100 off per person! Which is a huge saving for a family. Comment ā€œpottersā€ and I’ll send you the code and more info. You need to book this month for either May bank hol, May half term, or the summer hols.

We were invited for a PR visit but had no pressure to post. I always tell brands that we won’t promote something if we don’t think it’s fab šŸ«¶šŸ»ā¤ļø
