For many, this part of the trip is a last minute thought, which can end up costing far more than expected. Airport parking can be really expensive, especially when booking last minute. However, finding affordable airport parking isn’t impossible.

Our Experience using Looking4parking
We’ve relied on Looking4Parking multiple times for our travels, and it’s become our go to for airport parking. The website is straightforward to navigate, making it easy to find options that suit our needs and budget. On a few occasions, we’ve had to adjust our booking dates, and the process was really easy. This flexibility and ease of use are a major plus for us. Knowing they are trustworthy makes booking much less stressful.
Initial Booking Process
The booking process is simple and user-friendly. Once you’ve selected your car park and completed the payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email (example shown). This email includes all the key details, such as your booking reference number, arrival instructions, and contact information for the car park provider.
Tips for Booking Success
- Double check your email address: Make sure it’s entered correctly during booking. If you don’t receive the confirmation email, check your spam folder first.
- Resending the confirmation: If needed, you can resend the confirmation from the “Manage Booking” section of the website.
- Customer support: Should you realise you’ve mistyped your email, don’t worry, contact the customer service team. We’ve reached out to them a few times and found them incredibly responsive and helpful. Still need help, send me an email and I’ll do my best to help!
Arriving at the car park
Most of the car parks we’ve used through Looking4Parking have been automated, which makes the check in process smooth. When booking, you provide your vehicle’s registration number, and the car park systems recognise it upon arrival.
Park and Ride Convenience
We personally prefer park-and-ride facilities that allow us to keep our keys. For Manchester and East Midlands Airports, Jetparks are brilliant for this. Another favourite carpark of ours is Hunters Car Park in Manchester, however you do have to leave your keys behind here.
Returning to Your Car
After your trip, the return process is usually just as straightforward. With automated systems, you simply drive out after your number plate is recognised. If you’ve opted for a car park where keys are left, your car will be ready for you at the designated pick-up area.

- Keep your confirmation handy: Either print it out or save it digitally for easy reference.
- Plan for delays: If your flight is delayed, some car parks offer grace periods or the option to pay for extra hours. Check these details during booking. We always add the insurance that covers late return, its usually only a few pounds.

Book early!
The early bird catches the worm has never been more true than it is for airport parking. We have seen parking prices more than double as the trip approaches.

Always shop around to find the best prices, but this code will save you lots of money over time.
Consider off-site parking
You don’t need to park in the official airport car parks which are usually extortionate. We tend to opt for the offsite car parks that then offer a shuttle service to the terminal. We often travel from Manchester airport and frequently use Jetparks and Hunters for cheap airport parking. Both have always been reliable.
Extra tips when booking airport parking
- Take photos of your car and its milage before you leave it in the car park. This will help as evidence should your car get damaged or you suspect someone has been driving it.
- Check that your travel insurance covers damage to a car whilst left in airport parking.
- If the parking fee is over £100, book on a credit card. This will give you additional section 75 protection should you have any issues with the service.
- Take a photo of the area you left the car. Jetparks, for example, have huge car parks. After a week or so away it is easy to forget where you left the car.
- If the car park doesn’t require you to leave your keys, put them in a small inside pocket and make a note of where they are. It is very common for us to arrive at the car park late at night and spend a good 10 minutes blaming each other for losing the car keys!
